Chapter 1-
I was starting a new school.
I should have been nervous, but I wasn't because I'd always been good at meeting new people. I was outgoing and confident so I got along with people pretty well. I was starting mid-term, so I hoped there would be a space for me in the friendship groups that had been formed at the start of the year.
As I was leaving my new home, in my new town, to go to my new school my mom came and kissed me on the cheek before wishing me luck on my first day. I didn't know what people would wear here in Florida. My clothes from London might not be suitable here. I'd be far too hot if I wore my jeans and one of my sweaters, so I settled on a pair of denim shorts and a logo t-shirt with the Union Jack on, I had on my white converse and my long brown hair was tied up into a messy bun. I didn't bother with make-up, because it made me feel uncomfortable, and I had nice skin, so I didn't need it.
I had to walk to school, because both of my parents new jobs meant that they had to leave for work in the early hours. I didn't live too far away from my new school, so I didn't mind walking. I knew the way well after my mom had described the route to me several times, I didn't mention it, but I was extremely grateful that she's went into detail with the directions, because without them, I'd be seriously lost. When I arrived at the school building, I made my way straight to administration, just like I'd been told too. A short woman with grey hair and rounded glasses handed me my time table and gave me the directions to my first class. Biology was first. Just my luck.
