I was lying in my bed when everyone thought I was sleeping. The house was silent. My older brother and my two younger siblings were already in bed. Mom and dad, as usual, were gone for a week, business trips. I stared out into the snow-white plains of the world. The woods looked like a fairyland with all the snow flowing.

I was wondering if it would just nod me to sleep. With its hypnotic beauty as the snow fell, like icy tears, Wondering, I've always wanted to go into the woods deeper than l have gone. My friends and I have gone in the woods before.

As I stared, my eyes started to get heavy.

Heavier, heavier until I felt myself sway and fell on my pillow asleep. And what I saw in my dreams was me, an older version of me! Around maybe 14 or so, running in the woods wearing an elegant white summer dress, I was drawn by something; more like need, more like, to find what I'm looking for.

I look behind me. My brother and two younger siblings were following me. I look to both sides; my friends were following me as well. We ran and ran until we could not run anymore. And when we saw what we saw a bright light. It was a hole, maybe ten feet wide, and what was in the middle was a beautiful whitish-sliver-ish rock with little grooves in it.

It was elegant, not destruction, but beautiful. My companion was drawn to it. I felt a quickening in my heartbeats as if this was what I was looking for; this was what I was supposed to find. We go straight to it. Looking at each other, my friends had the same look in their eyes as I do. I look at my brother and two younger siblings; they have it in theirs as well.

We lean over and put our hands on it. The light emerges like a supernova around us. And then, I woke up, and it was the morning that went quickly. I was breathing heavily like I had been running in the woods. I look through my room, the same white walls with pink fringe.

Same white desk, white vines around it, same old medieval computer. Same four post canopy bed. I looked in the mirror; I was still my six year's old self. I heard someone knock. I turned my head. The door opened. It was my older brother, Carson, telling me it was time for breakfast. I nod and follow him to the kitchen for breakfast.

My two younger siblings were already down there. And they look like I do. I look at Carson, and his eyes were like theirs. I'm wondering did we all four have the same dream.
