Chapter 10

Lina's POV

My heart dropped as those words escaped my mother's words. This was the end of it. Vincent Walker knew the truth. He knew that I was the one who trashed his place. Fear invaded me as I thought about the consequences. The maid must've seen us. She told him that Miranda, Clara and I destroyed his property.

"Carolina? Are you alright?"

I wasn't alright. I can't breathe. I felt someone grip my shoulders but I didn't look up. I was paralyzed in fear. I didn't want to go to prison. It was just a prank! I felt someone lightly slap my cheek. I let out a cry before glaring at Clara. She smiled sheepishly before apologizing.

"She's fine Mrs. Rodriquez." Miranda said. I glanced at my mother who froze at Miranda's words. Miranda didn't realize her mistake since she was too worried about me. However, I knew why my mother froze in shock. Miranda just called her by my father's last name.

"She's Mrs. Elliot now." I reminded darkly before shaking off my friend's hands. I got up and waved my mother to get out. I picked Theo up and handed him to my mother. I knew he didn't want to leave but I needed to speak to Clara and Miranda. Mom stepped back without saying anything. I slammed the door in her face and turned toward my friends.

Clara and Miranda sat silently for about two minutes. We were all terrified. What was going to happen at the dinner? What if there are police officers waiting for us? So many unanswered questions kept appearing in my mind. I wish I stopped my friends that time then we wouldn't be in this situation.

"I think it's going to be fine." Clara was the first one to speak up. I snapped my head up and glared at her. Why is she so damn confident? What if they caught us on tape?

"How the hell do you even know?" I demanded furiously with wild eyes. Clara peered at me before sighing deeply. She was just trying to make us feel better but it's not going to work this time. We were going to get caught.

"Well at least I'm trying to be positive! You're just giving up!" Clara argued, her eyes blazing with anger as she glared viciously at me. Normally, I would back down because I hated arguments. However, I was beyond pissed at this point. I didn't care if I was going to hurt her feelings. I was stuck in this situation because these two girls wanted to piss off a wealthy dude.

"You guys are going to leave tomorrow! I have to stay here and deal with this!" I cried. Nobody understood my pain. They just did this for the thrill. I'm going to face Vincent all on my own.

"No we aren't Lina! If we get caught then we're staying with you even if we're in trouble." Miranda answered. I have to admit I was shocked for a moment. I wasn't expecting them to stay. I glanced at Clara who nodded in agreement.

"I'm sorry you guys," I sighed deeply before hugging both of my girls. If I was going down then at least I had my girls with me. "I'm so scared."

"I know Lina and we're not leaving." Clara assured. I tightened my hold around them and accepted my fate.

Vincent Walker was going to kill me.

Clara, Miranda and I stood outside in front of Vincent Walker's house. The rest of family was taking their sweet time getting out of mom's SUV. I watched as Mom helped Theo out of his car seat. The home-wrecker was talking softly to Johnny and Mariko. It sometimes bugged me how secretive he was. I eyed the three curiously but quickly looked away when Johnny made eye contact. I couldn't let them know that I was suspicious. My eyes went back on the house. Right now I had more important matters to worry about. How was I going to face Vincent Walker? I felt a hand on my shoulder.
