Basketball Star

Chapter 4

Normal POV

"I want you to join basketball." -Principal Mavis 

"Why would you want me to join Fairy Tail's team. I mean I've never played for this school, and I don't know if I'm good enough to ever." -Lucy

"Child. You were the team captain for all your years at Angel's Heart Academy, and the only game that you didn't play was that one time the Fairy's and the Angel's played against each other." -Principal Mavis

"Can I at least, have time to think it over?" -Lucy 

"Child, the tryouts are after school on Wednesday. You have until then to think about it. You are dismissed." -Principal Mavis

"Thank you. I should get going, I have to get to language." -Lucy

"Good bye. Child." -Principal Mavis

Lucy waved goodbye and walked out of the office.

Lucy POV

I walked out of the office in deep thought.

'Should I join the team?' That was all that I could think about.

I was greeted by none other than Natsu.

"What happened?" -Natsu

"She requested something. Come on we're gonna be late for class." -Me

When we reached class I sat down next in front of Natsu.

Just like in first period all the girl kept glaring at me and calling Natsu 'Natsu-sama' 

"You're pretty popular aren't you?" -Me

"You could say that." -Natsu

"Whatever. Mr.Popular." -Me

After class we had to go to gym class with Ms.Shikashi.

Honestly she is my favorite teacher. Almost as soon as we got to her class we already had teams and were on either side of the net.

"Now, I don't care if it your first day, this is still Physical Education. As you can see, we are going to play a simple game of dodgeball. Remember, once you are out you are out." -Ms.Shikashi

We started the game. 

Once we got halfway through the game, the boys were winning. Mira, me, and Erza were the only girls on the court. The boys had Laxus, Natsu, Jellal, and Gray. 

Once we got the balls, Gray was the first out. Laxus managed to get Mira out and Jellal got Erza.

Now its 3 vs. 1

The first I got out was Laxus. I knew he was one of their best throwers but he can't really dodge.

After him I aimed for Natsu, but I hit Jellal instead. Now it was Me vs. Natsu.

We both got the ball and threw it at the same time. We literally tied, in dodgeball.

"Nice game, Luce." -Natsu

"Nice game, flame-brain." -Me

I knew how he would react so I started to run. Almost immediately after he was chasing me. We ran around the gym and I didn't even notice that Lisanna had walked in since her class get out earlier.

Lucky.

When he caught me he tackled me and he was over me just inches away from my faces. 

We were both laughing hysterically. 

We played and practiced the rest of P.E. and I didn't even give a damn about Lisanna on the sidelines just glaring daggers at me.

When class was over I went to the girls locker room.

I grabbed my clothes since I was wearing my gym clothes, and took a shower.

I changed back into my clothes and put my gym clothes in my locker.

I walked to the Cafe with Erza and Mira.

Once we got there me and Erza almost ran in line for the food. They were serving cake and ice cream today.

We got our food and walked back to our table. I couldn't really focus not eh conversation my friends were having because a little girl with long blue hair was getting bullied.

I finally got tired of it. I saw one of the bullies get ready to hit her. My friends attention went to me as I got up.

I walked over to the bullies and grabbed his fist. "I wouldn't do that if I were you."

"And what are you gonna do about it?" I hate bullies. They think that they can be abusive to other kids. 

I turned the boy around punch him in the gut and kneed the other were the sun don't shine. 

"I don't like bullies." -Me

By now the whole cafeteria's attention was on me.

"You okay kiddo?" -Me. She nodded in responce.

I took her to the nurse to see if she had any infections or injuries.

I swear if I see those bullies again, I'm gonna beat them to a pulp and not even Natsu will be able to stop me.
