Chapter 1
Alastair Black
As I walked to Maths, I knew I was going to enjoy myself.
That girl, Kiara, was much more than I expected. So much more. Probably the best I could get (for what I wanted) and maybe different from the others.
Maybe she was the type not to interfere with plans—my plans. Then everything would go down well, wouldn't it? Perfectly well... This was going to be so much fun.
At the thought of it, I grinned internally.
As I looked into her hazel eyes, I caught a glimpse of... what was it? Awe? Curiosity? Anxiety? I'd trust my instincts. After all, I was never wrong.
I smiled softly at her. She was honestly kind of breathtaking, good or bad I didn't know, but right now I had more pressing...matters in my head to take care of. Those thoughts I had.
Those thoughts running through my head mixed in with my desire to know more, perhaps exploring.
I should not doubt myself. I know I'm right. Definitely
But what was it about her that made me uneasy, made me feel like I needed to clench my fists and breathe deeply? I needed more self-control.
I had to suppress my thoughts for now. I had to go with my predictions and data, especially get more information on her—Kiara.
I smiled when she squeaked a little "Nice to meet you too." at me. It was curiously funny, the way she straightened her back like that.
The way she walked, the way she acted, how she smiled. How she blushed, and avoided me.
Yes. Hilariously funny. No, I'm not being sarcastic.
Something in her gaze caught my eye. Something a little... flashy, even? Not that my vocabulary contained the words to describe that.
Interesting. How very interesting.
As soon as she left, I quickly ducked down to the bathroom.
Good, no one was there.
My hands clutched the sides of the bathroom sink as I stared up, looking at myself, my hair, my eyes, me. Everything looked too... curious about me today. I wasn't being me.
Well... the me that everyone sees.
A smirk made its way upon my mouth. The thought of Kiara, that girl, made me alive.
I knew what must be done.
But, ironic as this all seemed...
I was wrong.
