The Lullaby

The thunder rolls in, but there's nothing to fear.

Though not in body, I'm always here.

The light, leaves no shadows, the rain's not far behind.

Though the nights not quiet, pay it no mind.

Instead fill your thoughts with fantasy of old.

Think back to the fairytales you were once told.

One day your love will fight away your fears,

But for now let me wipe away your tears.

Now rest your head and listen to these words,

For now your problems are not the world's.

I will be here and make everything right,

I will lay down beside you, protect you all night.

I hope this lullaby settled you to sleep,

in your dreams, our memories you'll keep.

Tonight the dark holds no fear,

though not in body, I'm always here.
