Dear Liam

Chapter 1

“It’s the last day, everything is going to end” I mumbled closing my eyes as a single tear dropped on my cheek. I wiped it away and sighed. The idea of moving away was killing me. Leaving my country, family, friends and especially Liam wasn’t on my list of future plans. Thoughts and fears were going through my mind. I sighed again, put my earphones on and buried my head in my pillow. I played a song that went with my mood and sang along to it. “Stefi” I heard my mum yell from downstairs so I took my earphones off and yelled back “yes?” “Lunch is ready come and eat” she said. I switched my iPod off and went downstairs passing by the living room. I found everything packed in boxes; everything looked so empty just like my heart and soul. I grew up in this house, I’ll never forget all the happy moments I had in it the laughs that filled every corner of it. I bit my lip holding my tears from falling down again. I backed up slowly and bumped into two open arms. I gasped and looked up “mum!” I hugged tight crying. “Honey” she replied hugging back. “awww baby I know it’s hard but we can’t do anything about it, it’s for the best” she said. “It hurts so bad leaving the ones you love” I cried in her arms while she rubbed my back. She kissed my forehead and said “I promise everything will be okay” she smiled trying to comfort me. Lunch that day was so quiet; I was too sad to eat so I just got up and went to my room. I sat on my desk, grabbed a piece of paper and a pen and started writing a letter:

“Dear Liam” I started my letter with tears forming in my eyes. I scratched the paper hard and began crying. Liam was my best friend, the one who makes me laugh, smile, and happy. He was with me through the good times and the bad times and leaving him was something that I didn’t want to believe. I threw the paper on the floor and laid my head on the desk crying. I wanted to scream and let it all out. All the feelings inside me so I grabbed my iPod again and played one of my favorite songs:

I got up, leaned on the wall and slowly sat down on the floor crying as I listened to it all. I sat for couples of hours thinking of the right words to say until I got it! I got up quickly and sat on the desk again; I opened my notebook and started writing. I bit my lip hard trying not to cry again but some drops made their way out and fell on the letter making small stains of black ink. As I finished writing it my phone rang, I grabbed it and saw Liam’s number. My heart started pounding and felt some butterflies in my tummy a strange feeling that I never felt before. “Hii Liam” I said. “Hey Stefibeary” Liam replied. I always smiled when he called me that because it’s so special to me. “So I’ve been thinking if we could hang out today?” Liam said and I replied with a yes without hesitation “Y-yes sure Liam”. “Great I’ll pick you at 7:00 wear something nice” I laughed “sure see you” I hanged up and moved to my closet searching through my clothes till I found a blue dress that I loved a lot and put it on. I was nervous because this is the last time I’ll be with Liam so I wanted it to be a special night. I finished getting dressed and put some makeup on face. I looked at my watch and it was 7:00 pm sharp. I heard the doorbell ring and ran downstairs to get it. I opened the door and smiled softly as I saw him “Liam”! I hugged him tightly.
