Joshua

I can't believe I just did that. My god. I will not go again everyone I've loved had always died I can never love again. I will not hurt anyone else.

I walked upstairs leaving her alone. I walked through a door and inspected the room. I looked in a corner when I saw blood and saliva, the dope and the broken chair.

"I think I found something, Courtney!!"

No respond worried me, so I started walking out the door slowly. I stepped downstairs and watched through a window as she gasped at several burning bodies in a pile outside.

Then I started to tear up considering the first burning body was... My girlfriend.

"My God!"

She started to cry and I put my hand on her shoulder and tried to be strong.

"Let's go. It's getting late."

She turned around as her remaining tears balanced down her cheeks.

"I'm going to call my mom see if I can stay with her tonight. I am not going back inside that house, yet alone sleep there." She decided.

"Why don't you just stay at my house for now? Come on."

She followed me home shivering and I made the classy, original move to give her my warm leather jacket.

She looked at me and smiled in thanks.

Once we made it to my house, I unlocked the door, held her shoulders and walked her upstairs as my family watched me in question.

I lied her on my bed and tucked her in as she slowly closed her eyes and fell asleep.

"Goodnight. I'm sorry I brought you into this, but I thought you were the one." I kissed her forehead and quickly went downstairs to explain to my parents.
