Walking the familar halls of my best friend's home, I could not help where my mind went. I began reliving the day Adam and I met.

It was during the summer before my parents died. I was walking through the woods around Adam's house and saw a wolf feeding on a large doe. I was oblivious to what I was at the time and that weres, witches, vampyres, and other things existed so I stopped in my tracks at the sight of this massive wolf. It had froze as well and lifted it's blood covered muzzle.

I, too scared to breathe, slowly took a step backwards. The wolf bounded over its kill, letting a growl escape from its thick throat and pulled back its lips to reveal sharp white canine teeth. I turned and ran as fast as I could without looking back until a handsome young boy stepped infront of me. I ran into his bare warm chest. His arms had encicled me with the impact as we tumbled to the ground.

"I'm so sorry." I had stuttered, looking down at him admiring his six pack and cut off shorts.

He still had his arms wrapped around me.

"It's ok. Why are you running like someone lit your tail on fire?" he chuckled as he loosened his grip slightly so I could rise just enough to get a better look at him.

"I was running from a wolf. It was about to attack me. I've never seen one that big before." I replied.

"That's what she said." he mummbled, chuckling again.

"I'm Rayne." I said as he lifted us to our feet and offered his hand.

"I'm Adam." he replied with a crooked grin that took my breath away.

I had realized at the moment our hands touched that he was hotter then the normal person.

"Nice to meet you. You feel like you're running a fever." I had said in concern for this boy who was half naked infront of me.

"Nah, I'm always this hot." he said running one hand down his torso grinning wider as he saw me swallow and my eyes followed his hand.

I mentally shook my self and looked back to his face. His grin was wide enough to show his pearly whit teeth. Like the wolf's teeth, I mentally added.

I had tried to laugh at his gesture, and bad joke, until I saw his teeth were unusually pointed. Fear shot through my veins when I heard a wolf howl. Adam quit grinning and perked his head up like a dog would at finding something interesting.

"I have got to be insane." I had whisper to myself. "It isn't possible. It just isn't logical. They are nor real." I kept talking to my self looking at the ground as I walked around him, slowly to make for a retreat.

"What isn't logical? What isn't possible? Are you ok?" he had asked.

I snapped my fingers and pointed at him. "I'm dreaming! That's it. This is all a dream."

"Why do you think you're dreaming?" he said, taking a step closer as I had taken one back.

"Because werewolves don't exist. You're not real. Just part of a weird dream." A cute weird dream, I had added mentally. Though even as I said it, I could not bring my self to believe it as he grinned sadly and tilted his head to the side.

"Ok, I'll play your game. I'm not real. I'm just a dream." he had said waving his hands in the air in mock creepyness that was funny.

"Since you're dreaming I can do this." he circled me, and me backing away continuously, he cornered me to a large redwood tree.

He had placed an arm on either side of my head. Adam had a crooked grin on his face as he leaned forward.

"It's just a dream. It's just a dream. It's just a-" I repeated as I closed my eyes tight waiting to wake up. I never did wake up, my eyes had opened wide because of the smooth hot touch of his lips silencing mine.

Coming out of my daze and back to the present, I grinned as I remembered slapping him and the shock and satisfaction in his eyes as he proved that, indeed, he was real.

"What are you grinning for?" Adam said, bringing me fully back to the present and the four walls of his small kitchen.

I shook my head. " Nothing. Just reminicing."

"About what?"

"The day we met." Our first, and only, kiss I mentally added.

"Yeah, it was all great until you slapped me. I was enjoying my self." he smile at the memory, clearly thinking of the kiss, as he pulled out bread and cheese to make his famous grilled cheese sandwiches we always ate while playing Halo.

"You know, if you ever want to pretend that your still dreaming, I'm game." he said, I shoved his shoulder joining in his laughter.

"No way, Adam." I said as he leaned forward puckering his lips dramatically making kissing noises.

I put my hand over his mouth and pushed him backwards, still laughing I said "Gross, doggy breath."

He whimpered then we were both laughing hard enough both our sides were hurting.

With a grilled cheese sandwich in one hand and a controller in the other we focused on besting the aliens on Halo until I had to go to work.
