Chapter 4

Being there for almost what seemed to be hours I heard leaves rustling behind me. They became louder as the unidentified source approached. I prayed it was a rabbit or a deer but no animal was there, it was Steve and when he realized it was me, trapped like a wild animal he gave a call for Bruce who came running with his flashlight. Not being to move he came in front of me looking straight into my eyes. I was terrified an that fright showed in my big blue eyes. Him, not feeling even the slightest of sadness for me. Me the slightly gullible person i am think i was safe until he turned back around only to give me a blow in the face, his left had seem stronger than before. Then they both untangled me and took me back to the house. In the house he threw me up against the wall, then on the ground. Picked me up again then threw me in to the television which over turned and crashed on the floor. "Bruce be careful please don't hurt her anymore."

"Stay out of this Steve, this was long over due she had this coming."

"But she is a woman for crying out loud."

"Steve as I said before, stay out of it."

By now i was in so much pain I could barely move Bruce continued by grabbing me by the hair and pulling me on the floor right into the kitchen. Even though I was bleeding on the floor he didn't seem to care he just hand cuffed me to the chair near the sink. Steve came in there after he left with a first aid kit and attend to my wounds. Later that night I had dinner after they both had their fill. Steve went to bed but Bruce stayed up and watched me eat. I was a little surprise he remembered how i liked my beef, thoroughly cooked. Each bite I took could feel him staring at me. "Our son, whats his name?"

"Our son, wow that's an understatement."

"Understatement?"

"Yes well for starters its not son but sons and not ours but my husband's and I."

"Your husband I see, so when we were together you weren't pregnant?"

Not wanting any harm to come to the rest of my family I lied. "No i wasn't"

"When u left i found the test on the bathroom floor I taught it was yours."

"Well no its wasn't mine." Now he seemed calm so i wanted to know more. To know what or who I was up against. "So whats the purpose for my visit?"

"Your my girlfriend soon to be wife cause if i cant have you no one can."

"What if i refuse?"

"I'll kill you myself."

Hearing that my heart began to race and my palms began to sweat,I felt light headed. i mustered up the courage and asked to be excused to lie down and my wish was granted. He left an came back in two minutes tops. I was on my side facing the wall when he came in. He moved around a little I didn't want to see what he was doing so I stayed put. He then crawled into my bed and placed his arms around me. Devastated I only could just breathe and try to relax. Not long after I was fast asleep.

Around 2'o clock I was jolted awake by a branch that fell in the woods behind the house.

I had to go to the bathroom so I tried to loosen his tight grip from around my waist. "Where are you going?" he said gently. It sounded like he was awake for a long time. "To the bathroom" I said in fear."Make sure you have 3 minutes". I there i felt a sudden feeling of depression like I was the same young foolish girl that fell in love with him. After i was finished with my business i returned to find him staring at me again. The night was cold and the trees began to whisper when i just went back to bed. I tried to keep my distance but it was hard, not only for me but mostly for him. If it were back in the day a lot could have result from 1 minute of looking at each other. At home i would have been in bed with my husband and the sheets would be like the raging waves of the stormy cold night sea.
