Jeffrey Blalock , better known to the world as Jeff the killer, awoke early one autumn morning to a large husky looking dog licking him to get his attention. "Eww fuck what the hell Smile?" Jeff pushed the dog off of him. "Well I had to get you up somehow, by the way you taste nasty take a shower." The dog replied clearly annoyed. "Why did I need to get up?" Jeff grumbled "it's not like I have anywhere to be." Smile rolled his eyes "well you locked me in your room and I don't have thumbs and I'm really hungry what was I supposed to do?" Jeff got up muttering under his breath and opened the door. He considered going back to sleep but decided against is as it was hard enough to get any sleep in the dead hours of the night and everyone would be getting up soon anyway. He figured if he got to the kitchen first he'd get dibs on any food, so he headed downstairs. He went to the kitchen and found Eyeless jack already sitting at the table holding a cup of what Jeff assumed to be water. The light was off and Jack was wearing his mask so Jeff couldn't read his expression. "Hey Jack you're up early" Jeff said and Jack jumped as he hadn't realized Jeff was there. "O-oh hey J-Jeff I didn't see y-you there umm I couldn't really s-sleep I've been out all n-night." Jack was an extremely shy and almost always stuttered when he talked and he was also very quiet. "Yeah I must have locked my door last night and Smile wanted out I probably couldn't get back to sleep anyway. Why were you out all night did you run out of food?" Jeff asked a bit worried for his friend's sake.
"Yeah I had to go out for t-that." Jack said wearily. Jeff knew that Jack always hated having to go out for food as his meals consist solely of human flesh and organs. Jeff thought for a minute as he stood in the dark kitchen. He thought about Jack and how the sweet little guy got stuck in the house with a bunch of killers and monsters. From what Jeff knew, Jack had been blind and out for a walk when he got lost and stumbled upon a demon looking for a new host. Jack had to be the nicest person Jeff knew, he just had terrible luck. Jeff then had an idea. "Hey Jack why don't we go for a walk it's pretty quiet and nice outside." "S-sure why not." Jack replied standing up. They went out into the cool misty morning where the sun had just started to rise turning the sky a beautiful orange and pink color. The forest was quiet save for a few birds lazily chirping to one another. Jeff and Jack set off walking in any direction through the forest. Jeff looked down at Jack his hood was down revealing his dark red hair. His mask was on obstructing his face. Jeff wondered what it looked like as he'd only ever seen part of jacks mouth when he ate. As they passed through a clearing in peaceful silence Jeff's mind strayed elsewhere. Truth be told, he had had a crush on the little man-eater for some time. He thought about the first time he'd met Jack, how he'd been silent and afraid of everyone, most people had ignored him but Jeff was fascinated by the small mysterious little monster. It had taken nearly a year and a half but Jack had finally gotten as comfortable with Jeff as he was sure he'd ever been with anyone. Sure Jack could talk to some of the others, the proxys and quieter monsters mostly, but Jeff had been his best friend and Jeff hadn't wanted to make things awkward or uncomfortable between them which was why he hadn't acted on any of his feelings.
They walked on until they got to the edge of a small lake and they looked out on the sun reflecting off the calm water. "I-it's beautiful " Jack wispered as if trying not to disturb the beauty with his voice. "I'm sure it's not as beautiful as you" Jeff replied without thinking. Shit did he just say that out loud? Jack didn't say anything and Jeff hoped he maybe hadn't been listening. He wished he could see his facial expressions. "N-no I'm not n-nice looking at a-all" Jack  eventually responded. "Well I wouldn't know it you never take off your mask." Jeff said. "W-well I mean, it's j-just that every time I show anyone my face t-they get scared and I  d-don't want to hear anyone scream when they see me." The man-eater looked at the ground dejectedly. "Oh Jack I wouldn't run or scream or be scared of you. But if you don't want to take it off that's fine too!" Jeff added quickly. Jack seemed to ponder for a moment . "Well o-ok but as long as you promise n-not to scream or anything" "I promise" Jeff replied. Eyeless Jack took the edges of his mask and lifted it up and off of his head. Jeff stared looking over every inch of jacks face, Jacks skin was a dark grey, he had a small nose, and where his eyes would be were two empty holes filled with some sort of black liquid that was trickling down his face slowly. Jack looked up at Jeff nervously and Jeff smiled even bigger than normal before taking a step forward and leaning close to Jack's ear "I told you you were beautiful". Jack blushed and looked at Jeff surprised. "R-really?" "of course I wouldn't lie to you". Jack looked down at the mask in his hands and after a moment asked "Jeff c-can I-I do s-something really quick?" "Sure Jack" Jeff looked at him a bit confused before Jack stood on his toes and gave Jeff a quick kiss on his mouth. Jeff grabbed jacks face, leaned in close and returned the kiss but longer and more intimate. They broke apart and Jeff put his arm around jack's shoulder holding him close to his body as they looked up at the last few minutes of sunrise. "Hey Jack" Jeff said after a bit. "Yes?" Jack asked looking up. "I uh really like you a lot actually" Jeff said a bit awkwardly. Jack buried his face in Jeffs hoodie and replied with a muffled "I really like you to Jeff."
