She's 10 and now well aware,
reading others like an open book
She fought through every scornful look.
Wanting so badly for affection and praise,
she lost herself in the midst of this race.
She's 15 and now all out of sorts.
Fingers pointing back at her, they blamed her
for the unspeakable atrocity done towards her
"You asked for it, didn't you"
She was silenced once and never again
She's 18 and now outspoken,
Love after love, she was left heartbroken
When all she wanted was her mother's love
Silent words and endless charades.
