"Let me get this straight, his name is Connor and he's a dom?" Tyler asks with a fork full of salad halfway to his mouth.
"Yup."
Today was Saturday aka the day of the week he always spent with Tyler. He insisted it was to strengthen their friendship and not to pry/gossip about the mundane occurrences in Troye's life, but the Australian knew better.
"Holy shit he's a condom!" Tyler burst out, laughing at his own clever joke and Troye's horrified face.
Troye feels the lemonade, he was drinking burn his esophagus as he chokes. "Oh my god Ty!" He groans out. His friend taps him on the back a few times before saying "Speaking of condoms." Troye sends him a pointed look, that he ignores. " A starbucks bathroom, huh?"
Troye curses having a paler complex, red shows up on him easily and he thinks about how much he could avoid talking about certain things if he didn't blush at all. Tyler's grin is wolfish and proud because he is a good friend and isn't shaming troye, because between the two of them the older boy has had sex everywhere including the kitchen counter back at Troye's apartment.
" It's a classy establishment." He retorts back.
Tyler hums in agreement, and although there's still a faint you-dirty-slut-you smile on his lips he lets the topic die and continues to eat his mandarin orange chicken salad.
After their late lunch, they hit up a few stores because Troye's jeans are more holes than jean and he's a little more than excited to spend his paycheck, that he got from recording his album. Two pairs of pants later, and a striped maroon sweater Troye's phone rings.
"Hello?"
" Troye?" Connor calls out. His voice sounds different on the phone, softer maybe, less confident. Still beautiful, Troye thinks.
"Hey connor, yeah its me," he replies. Tyler sticks his blonde head out of the dresser room with a little smirk that would probably drive anyone but Troye crazy. He makes, a half obscene half sloppy, blow job gesture that has Troye giggling and flipping him off.
" I was wondering if you're free later tonight," the dom asks.
For a second Troye thinks Connors asking him out, before he remembers, the boy had texted him a few days before to ask about their contract terms.
"Oh oh! Sure yeah did you want me to head over to yours or?"
"No, I'll come pick you up," he states smoothly avoiding the topic of his house. " I'd like to take you out after we're done with the contract."
Tyler excitedly moves closer to the receiver of Troye's phone wanting to hear this Connor guy, and let's out a quiet squeak when he brings up dinner. He hits Troye on the arm to get his attention before muttering " Ask him if it's a date!"
Troye shushes Ty before questioning " Like on a date? Because we already had sex you know and I have Captain Crunch waiting back at home." He teases.
On the other side of the phone, Connor contemplates on how to tell Troye that his sub's deserve the finest and that Captain Crunch doesn't really fall under 'fine material'. Also that this isn't really a date because they aren't together. He settles on a simple "Come to dinner, Troye. "
And applauds himself when it doesn't come out sounding like he's the sub's forty year dad. Instead of his daddy thank you very much.
The line is silent except for a few hushed whispers that make Connor raise an eyebrow and a loud screech of "Tilly!" Before Troye's voice rings next to the dom's ear "I'm ordering the most expensive wine on the menu."
"Sounds fair I'll pick you up at seven, by the fountain downtown. Will you be there?"
It shouldn't be this important that Troye confirms he's going. Afterall he's not Ricky. But something about his new sub unnerves him, wraps tight around his esophagus until the only two choices are die or kiss him for breath.
"Yeah I'll go."
Troye's soft confirmation steals whatever oxygen Connor has left.
