There we were sitting on the rooftop. And there he was right in front of me, staring with his puppy like eyes as the reflection of the lights shone and made it look like the stars were trapped in them
Who ever thought that sitting on top of an abandoned warehouse in the middle of a ghost town was romantic? I wasn't so sure about it too. But this was our place where we stayed and spent countless hours together at nights when we needed someone to just talk to. Well, ours until...until this other girl decided to smile her way into his life and barge into mine.
Anyways, it's not just us two anymore. There's her. Him. And me. We're all friends now with the exception that the other two has something more going on; If you know what I mean. But I guess this was all my doing, so why should I complain?
Before we go to a huge flashback moment to how it all started lets take a long stare at this scenario right here. You'll probably get the idea about this perfect picture scene going on. Picture a big warehouse rooftop at night with the stars glistening in the clear sky of the ghost town, three 18 year olds, a couple and the best friend. You see the couple staring at each other, the guy has his arm around the other girl as they both smile at each other and the best friend sitting behind them smiling as she remebers the past when she used to sit at the exact spot of where the girl now sits.
The best friend can't complain. After all she was the one who started anyway. She was the one who pushed them together. All she can do now was sit back and watch. All she was was the best friend. All she was; was me.
*Flashback to 6 months ago*
Kira was walking on an a path with shops enclosed around her, people pushing and shoving to get to their destination. The further down the path she walked, the less crowded it became until there was only a countable number of people walking, taking their time.
She eventually found herself alone in the ally walking aimlessly not even knowing where she wanted to go. In a blink of an eye, a figure suddenly made its way beside her. It wasn't a scary figure, but she couldn't make out who it was. This figure reached out to her and linked his arms with her.
In shock, Kira jumped back and let go. He stopped and turned to her, put his hands on her shoulders and leaned close to her face until they were only only 1 inch away frim each other . She felt his breath touch her face, he opened his mouth to say something but Kira couldn't hear anything. All she knew know was that she cried. He took her into his arms and held her as he secured her head on his chest. They were so close that she could hear the beating of his heart. It was fast.
If only this could last forever...
She pleaded in her mind. Please . Please be real. Don't be a dream.
Damn.
There she was, repeating her routine once again and struggling to adjust from waking up late in the afternoon to having to get up at 5 in the morning once again.
She was more lazy this time, she was too engrossed in the memories of her dream. Questions circled around her mind. Who was it? What did he say? It seemed so real to her.
Snap out of it Kira. Focus. She told herself as she slapped herself back to reality.
She plugged in her earphones and pit them in her ear in the attempt to push away the world's harsh distractions.
She travelled to school by bus and decided that today was a beautiful day. Why waste it? Therefore she decided not to stay in the crowded bus till the end and walk the rest of the journey.
Kira Hinata. A kind gentle girl who'd put others first before herself. She wasn't the smartest but she was popular for standing on her word and for the loyalty she has for her friends. She attended one of the most expensive but presigious schools, HaeBell High which all attending stayed in for their whole high school life, as a request of her single father. Though she may not have the best relationship with the higher classes, she was loved by her small group that consisted of the school's lowest.
