My heavy eyes flew open as the piercing shrill of the alarm cut through the air. I groaned, as grabbed the soft pillow and attempted to mask the sound of the clock by pulling it over my ears. The bloody thing still sung its tune though, causing me to begrudgingly drag my sorry ass out of the comfy heaven known as my bed.

Still half awake, I flung the curtains open. I hissed as the sunlight broke into the small room and dug into my tired golden orbs.

The alarm sounded again, and I glanced at the time.

Crap.

It was like my body had changed gears. I rushed to the bathroom, and tied my hair in a quick ponytail, brown hair pooling onto my shoulders. Scrambling, I pulled up the woollen black stockings over my pale legs, and fumbled the white shirt over my head. I then, rapidly flung on the black v-necked jumper and the tie.

Surveying my work, I clicked my tongue. Of course, I wanted to look my best on the first day, but it'd have to do. And to be fair, I didn't have a lot to work with. Father insisted I went to prestigious school but by God this uniform was ugly. But I didn't have time to make improvements. I was late enough as it was.

I ran through my narrow, single roomed apartment into the blistering cold outside, but I didn't pay the temperature no heed. Spying my small, blue Toyota Yaris, I scrambled inside, literally threw my bag in the backseat and slammed the keys into the ignition.

The soft hum of the vehicle brought a sigh of relief to my lips. It was going to be okay. I was going to get there on time.

Driving cautiously through the ice bogged roads, I formed a battle plan in my head. Okay Charlotte. You're going to get there and make some friends. Be friendly. Smile.

I nearly slammed my head down on the steering wheel. This was going to be a nightmare.

Sighing, I glanced at the world outside. It was nothing like Australia. Snow lay in blankets on the grass, which you wouldn't even know existed because of the stuff. Neighbours had arose early to shovel the hindrance off the road, wrapped warmly with thick scarves and snug jackets. Children were giggling gleefully as they pelted each other with balls of snow, screaming as they made impact on their bare faces.

But there was no point mulling over it now. I wasn't in Australia. I was in Homes Chapel, Chershire, England. Nothing was going to-

SCREECH

My car came to grinding, painstaking halt, as my eyes widen. The bumper was mere centremetres from the most stupidest boy I've ever encountered, who had decided it was smart to cross the street, in front of a moving car.

"Watch it!" I yelled, once I rolled the window down.

"Eh, sorry"

The boy had replied sheepishly, his hand scratching the back of his neck. I got a better look at him. He was tall, with curled locks of chocolate. His blue-green eyes seem to twinkle, as if he hadn't just been moments from death earlier.

I blushed a dangerous tomato. Ok, sue me! I was a teenager and he was cute.

"Yeah well, next time be more careful," I muttered, eyes downcast.

I pounded my foot onto the acceleration pedal and sped off. If he had caught a glimpse of the burning face, I'd never live it down.

It was weird though. No boy had ever had an impact on me like this. I had to watch out for that one.
