Authors Note: Not sure how this is gonna turn out. I'm going to try to spit out a story loosely based on me and my high school experiences but keep it entertaining. So here goes nothing. I'm going to publish this as I write, in case anyone cares. So keep in mind it's just a draft.

Also, I'd like to thank Tori for inspiring me to write on Wattpad.

Chapter 1: Panther's Wasteland

"Eric, wake up, time for school." Some of the most depressing words I have probably ever heard in my entire life. Being a sophomore at a high school in southern West Virginia isn't exactly a grand experience. At this point I'm almost a zombie, drudgingly dragging myself across the hardwood floors of my home, grabbing whatever-in-the-hell the first clothes I see are and hopping into the shower.

After about 20 minutes of standing under hot water and rubbing my eyes I actually clean myslef and I'm ready for school. A quick teeth brushing followed by deodorant and cologne, I walk into the living room and wait for my sister. Once she is ready, we hop in the car with my step-mom and ride to my bus stop.

Sleepily I take a seat on the bus, ignoring 'Hello's that are more focused at my sister, who is the attractive one of the two of us, my eyes shut near instantly and the next time I open them, we're in the school parking lot. An elongated sigh and a "Here we go again..." is the perfect way to describe the day I was about to have.

My phone vibrates in my pocket, I just picked up the school's Wi-Fi and have started getting texts. Not expecting much, I pull the iPhone 4s from my pocket and tap the sleep button to turn on the screen. It reads: 'Tori(: -imessage-" because I have my messages set to private. After sliding the unlock I open it to see a text which says: "Good morning Eric, and I hope you have a great day. (: "

A smile comes across my lips just long enough for me to notice the doors to the school have now opened and everyone is heading inside. The smile soon fades as I am once again forced to spend eight hours trapped in the closest thing to prison I've ever been in. Sitting at a lunch table before first period, just waiting for the most miserable part of your day to begin is quite an interesting sensation. By interesting I mean suicide-inspiring.

Now, I may come across as a depressed, narcissistic, apathetic, asshole, but I'm really not. Because of a few people who mean the world to me, I can actually smile and get through each and every day. I suppose if I was an ugly rose, then these people would be my petals. Or something corny and stupid like that.

My first period Biology 10 class consists of the teacher reading articles on Yahoo! and my classmates and I playing games on our computers for 45 minutes. I suppose it would be a good time to mention that every student at our school has their own computer. I bring my own, simply for convience purposes, rather than use the absolute dog shit that the school gave us.

Second period is the class I can honestly say I look forward to every single day, my closest friends Matthew and Lee are both taking it with me. The teacher never makes us work and we all sit around and play games. It's really great because these guys are two of my petals, and spending time with them can really brighten up my day. From here on though, is where things get a bit rough.

The third period of the day is my Honors Geometry. If you could call it that. The teacher doesn't teach us, it's basically a joke. We sit around and keep ourselves entertained for a period on our compuiters, and if the principal comes in we look busy. My friend Timmy, and my ex-girlfriend Katie are both in this class, and I tell you this because it causes quite the issue. Katie is the immature type who always tries to make me jealous by getting all over this guy named Charlie, but that's not important for now.

Fast forward past my fourth period Travel WV class and we're at Lunch. I sit with all my friends, we smile, laugh, and play games together and wait for our fifth periods. When the time comes, I go, and my Health teacher Mr Yost, tells me that a teacher got fired today. Of course, I ask who. Because he likes me, he mentions that it was the teacher who is over my second period. I am heartbroken, I mean, he didn't just let us do whatever because he hated us, he did it because he cared. I pray that it's a rumor and go on with my day.

Nothing much important happens for the rest of the day, and it actually goes pretty quickly. As I jump onto the bus for a return trip home, I'm surprisingly in a good mood so I sit and talk with my busmates. Before long the bus pulls up beside my hollow, and I start the walk home.
