Beasts of the Night: Part 2
You opened the door to the café your family ran and made her way to the kitchen. You threw the bag into the large freezer then skipped up the stairs and into the apartment above. “I’m home!” You announced as she walked into the living room where two of your three older brothers, Matt and Al, were sitting and flipping through television channels.
“There’s a body in the freezer and it’s your turn to cut up the pray, Mattie.” You leaned over the couch and hugged your brother from behind.
“Get off me. And how many times have I told you not to call me that. “ You giggled and hugged him tighter as he tried to pry your hands off of him.
“Just make sure to do it before morning, ‘kay?” you said receiving an irritated groan from the elder sibling as he finally got her to release him. He stood from the couch and trudged down to the café’s kitchen to prepare the meat for the next day’s ghoul customers.
~Time Skip: Next Morning~
You awoke to the smell of coffee; the only human consumption item ghouls could enjoy and properly stomach. What humans ate and drank didn’t taste goo to your kind, though they could tolerate it if they bit off small pieces and swallowed them whole.
You quickly bathed then pulled on the white long sleeved button up shirt, black vest, and black slacks that served as a uniform. Rushing down the stairs in your unclad feet, you called out to your eldest brother, Oliver.
“Ollie, is Leo here? He was supposed to get me those new shoes.”
“No, but her should be here soon.” As though on cue Leonardo walked through the door with a plastic bag that held a shoe box in hand. He reached into the bag and pulled out the pair of shoes you had been wanting. You ran over and glomped him, almost causing him to fall over.
“I love you!” you squealed uncontrollably as you hugged him tighter.
“I love you too but you’re wrinkling my new jacket.” You let him go and took the shoes from him the slipped them onto your feet. You thanked him once more before he left, claiming he had other business to take care of. Shortly after, Matt and Al left to do whatever they did during the day, Oliver opened shop, and you tended to the slow trickle of customers that seeped through the door.
You were cleaning tables and chatting with some regulars when you noticed a blonde male with piercing blue eyes glance at Natasha, who had taken over the counter, every so often.
“Natasha~.” You leaned over the counter and cooed quietly “Looks like you have an admirer.” You giggled quietly at the bright blush that adorned her cheeks
“To bad he’s human.” She mumbled to you.
“But that means you can hunt him more easily. It’s easier to trick a pray if they trust or like you; you’ve done it before Nat.” she murmured something you didn’t quite catch before you told her you would switch places with her so she could talk to him. You watched their conversation between customers. Natasha came scurrying back with light blush on her cheeks and an excited gleam in her eyes. You switched places again and flashed an excited and expecting smile that begged her to tell you the details though you both knew that would have to wait until after work.
~Time Skip~
“So, Nat, you tell me what happened?” you saw her slightly tense at the question but quickly relax as she recalled earlier that day.
“He smelt delicious. It took everything in me not rip him apart and eat him then and there.” Her face began to redden at the thought of how he good he would taste. “He said he would walk me home tomorrow evening. I’m gonna get him then.”
“You’ve grown so much, Nat.” you squealed and pulled her into a tight hug. She lightly hugged you back before releasing so she could enter her home. She turned to face you before she closed the door and gave a small smile and wave which you gleefully returned.
