I was still shocked about what the heck just happened, why does this controller have magical powers? Or worse how did it get them?!?! These thoughts just kept racing through my head. It was getting late and outside I could see the sun setting at the horizon from my window. I finally got the courage to pick up the controller, and inspect it. I made sure no game was playing so it would have no where to bring me (assuming that it needs a game to bring me into). The controller was no longer glowing and was delicately rotating it around to view the controller. Then I find something... strange there was a symbol at the bottom of the controller that had a neon green viper that had a circle around it.

I could only guess that it was the manufacturer of this game, as I was about to sit down in front of my computer to find out any information about this controller, my mom called "OOOOOORRDER UP DINNER IS SERVED" And it wasn't until now I realized that I was starving. I gently put the controller down under my bed to keep it hidden, so I know where to get it for further study.

My mom was standing in the kitchen with a can of pop in her hand, she looked at me and said "Well there you are Mr. Twig! Hold on a sec," she inspected the look on my face and she looked concerned. She said "Dear LORD! You look like you've been through hell then back, what's the matter bud?!" I told her about the controller and how it took me in the game and everything. Then she tilted her head "I didn't buy you a new controller?" then she said "After you eat show me this controller okay?" I nodded and finished my food.

I lead her upstairs and into my room and took the controller from under my bed, she then looked shocked "Where the heck id that come from?" she said. I shrugged and replied "I thought you bought it for me," then I turned on my gaming console "now here's the weird part... then I waited for the thing to glow.... but it refused.... I told my mom " I takes a few minutes, ma" then she waited and waited.... she became frustrated and said "son.... HAVE YOU BEEN DOING DRUGS?!?!" I was completely shocked... she started to laugh, "HAHAH, I'm just rustlin' your jimmies, kiddo" then she rubbed my hair... then she just left.

I'm so frustrated because I KNOW IT HAPPENED IN REAL LIFE, or else the controller would cease to even exist! Then after some more studying I got tired and decided to go to bed. So I put the controller under my bed but there was a paper at the spot where my controller used to be before I showed my mom. I picked it up and my heart dropped... The paper said " This controller can take you inside any game you want... everything you learn and gain will carry on with you into real life past the game, but this is for a price for if you get hurt in the game you will stay hurt even when you come back to the real world... this also applies to death...." They made sure to highlight the word "DEATH" then I flipped to the back and it said "The controller only activates when the user is alone, and in the real world once you enter a game time stops until you choose to quit or finish the game. And once that is done... you will return to the world as if you have taken a short vacation (although some games may not be a so you say... vacation" Then at the bottom of the page it said "have fun and game well, Viper Enterprises"

I looked back and fourth at the letter and the controller slowly processing it... then I started to grin.... because now.... my games.... are real.... This is when life starts to get really... really good.

I went to school the next day... And the teachers were still very strange... I swear I want to dump water on them and see if they shut down.

During gym class though I felt weird... The coach told the class to run and I felt a surge through our my body... And I felt... Faster... So I got down to the ready running position and looked up... When coach said "GO" I ran TOO FAST! And I wasn't even trying! I beat all the other boys that coach put me up against... Maybe it was the controller... It did say I gain what I learn...

If this is true... Then I might become an OLYMPIC CHAMPION! Or... OR FREAKIN' BATMAN! This controller is gonna be the best thing that ever happens to me!

When I got home I immediately started playing, I put in my batman game eager to become the ACTUAL batman...

I got used to the whole system pretty fast! By the time you know it I was already solving crimes and beating up scum-bag thugs. Until I came to a bank robbery that I had to stop! And this was my only way of getting out of the game, it was to complete this last mission. So I head at it! Square on! No fancy gizmo's just fists! Now... That I think of it... It wasn't really the best Idea... Because as I went in... Those bank robbers were armed to the teeth! And a fat ugly grunt with a shot gun, shot me in the chest and out the door... I thought that was it... I'm dead... But then a blue glow rose around my dead body and my batman body pixelized and re-formed in front of the bank, then I felt a sharp sting in my head and I grabbed my head and cringed. Then I opened my eyes and in bold white letters it read "CHECK POINT REACHED TWO LIVES REMAINING!" And I just practically slapped myself in the face for not remembering I had three lives!

So I re-entered the bank... This time more subtly and made a quick dash behind a desk . Luckily all civilians, except the bank tellers, all got away. Making my job all the more easier. I then edged over to the edge of the desk I was hiding behind and pulled out a bat-a-rang. Then with that aim that only Bruce Wayne can deliver, I hit him right on the back of the head which knocked out that grunt! After that his partners in crime saw me and decided that shooting at me would be extremely fun! Luckily they had terrible aim and I just practically mocked them by saying things like "Nice aim! You killed a vase!" Or "GEEZ STOP SHOOTING THE WALLS THEY DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!"

I'd keep doing this till they got tired and I quickly rolled out of cover and knocked them both out with a quick karate chop.

After that my body started to glow green and a deep voice said "MISSION COMPLETE!" And within a blink... I was back in my room...

My chest hurt really badly... It got badly bruised. Maybe even getting revived still causes pain... Well you know what they say," for every pro there's a con" ugh, I wonder if I could sleep the pain off...

CHAPTER 3: Alex finds the dangers of his gaming adventures and his new abilities might serve him very well... But he has yet to find out... At what cost? Stay tuned for more! In CHAPTER 3: THE CONS!^-^
