"Psst...Al....Al...!"
Aline felt a tug at her hair. She quickly pushed the spectacle up her nose bridge a little and closed the book she was reading. Aline whipped around and placed her arm on the girl's table.
"What? Better make it quick, my enthusiasm for my book is beyond my enthusiasm for your 'juicy gossips'," Aline did the inverted commas with her fingers in mid air at the words 'juicy gossips'.
"Aww, come on Al! You know me, always something to say~ I heard a new boy being transferred to this school! He is also suuuper hot!" The girl responded enthusiastically when she mentioned the new boy.
Squealing in her own world, Aline took the chance to turn back to her exciting book. Flipping back to the page where she left off, she could not help but feel laughter bubbling inside of her. What's the big deal of a 'hot' boy joining the school? Isn't it just another normal human joining? Shaking her head, Aline bowed her head low and buried her head in the captivating pages of the novel.
Laurelle. The girls name.
She was a rather beautiful girl, someone who Aline looks up to as a beautiful model but has a spontaneous attitude. No boy in this school would call her ugly because of two reasons. First, she is not ugly, and secondly, who would want a bruisers their face when they are already ugly enough?
Laurelle has a pair of shimmering lime green eyes, wide and fully alert except during History and Mathematic classes. She had short chocolate brown hair and a white headband with black stars dotting it. She said that 'she was afraid people would stalk her for her long hair' so she cut them.
Aline played with her twin tails and tickled her nose with the ends of it. Her hair was strangely red , being natural, she couldn't do much about it. Her eyes had a brilliant tinge of sea blue and her eye lashes were extremely long. You could say that she isn't a perfect person, because when boys try to pick up Aline, they always return home with their esteems lowered and the icy stare of Aline imprinted in their minds.
"Miss Morgen and Miss Cortna! Please stop drifting off from class! And Miss Morgen, please don't think I don't know you're reading. If I catch you doing that again, I will not hesitate to confiscate it." A stern voice forced Aline to reluctantly close her book and Laurelle to snap back to reality.
"Pft, Mdm Worthstone is such a party pooper. I wonder who was the lucky man who married her." Laurelle murmured under her breath, grumbling and rambling non stop about the strict home room teacher.
Aline stared at the board ahead, but with a brain itchy for the book, she couldn't focus at all. When the bell rang, which was like the wait for eternalty, Aline literally jumped from her seat for joy. Swiftly, she swiped the book under her table and flipped through the crisp pages to the place where she had left off.
But, life was never perfect.
"Al....Al...."
With irritation bubbling inside of her, Aline tipped her head up with a infuriated look.
"What is it Laurelle?" She hissed through her lips.
"Hehe, you see, I haven't prepared for the next History test, you know....it's just sooooo boring! So...." Laurelle's voice trailed off as she looked at me with a sheepish face. She had her hand clasped together,as if begging me. With great regret of having such a friend, Aline snapped her book shut and let out an exasperated sigh.
"You want me to help you do a last minute study in the library. Sure, sure," Aline finished off the sentence, stopping to roll her eyes at the desperate Laurelle.
Laurelle's shimmering green eyes lit up in an instant, and without a single warning, pulled Aline into a warm hug, continuouslly rubbing her cheek against hers.
"Thank you Aline! You're the best!"
Aline used her index finger and poked at Laurelle's cheeks, pushing her away.
"Yeah yeah, I get that a lot. Now let's go before I change my mind."
Laurelle immediately tore away from Aline and jumped in front of her, raising her hand to salute her.
"Yes, Madam!"

Stepping into the serene library, Laurelle dashed for the nearest empty table and waved her hand at Aline to move over.
Aline face palmed herself and with a sigh, she walked over to the empty seat. Aline plopped herself down onto the hard plastic chair and took out the History textbooks she brought along just for Laurelle.
"Okay Laurelle, I most probably need you to revise this and-"
"Wait!!! I am sooo sorry but I need to go to the ...toilet..."
Laurelle cut Aline off immediately . She ended her sentence with a sheepish smile and scratched the back of her head in pure embarrassment. Aline, feeling exhausted as ever, couldn't bother to reprimand the girl anymore. With a wave of her hand, Laurelle made a dash for nature's call.
With boredom getting into her head, Aline flipped through the pages of the textbook which she had read almost a million times. Eventually, she got up and walked around the library which she never had been to before. Always studying at home, the girl she was. Just as she was about to move on to the novels section, someone crashed into her on the opposite side.
"Ow! Oh my god, watch where you are going!" Aline complained, squeezing her eyes in pain as she ran her fingers through her long scarlet hair.
"I am so sorry. Here let me help you," a voice, a deep one, probably a guy's , apologised to her in a frantic manner.
A strong grip clasped onto her right arm and pulled her up steadily. Groggily, Aline fought to open her eyes, blinking rapidly as if it would help chase the pain away.
"Sorry, I'm a new student here and I don't really know how to get around here..." His voice trailed off as Aline spun around to look at the culprit.
But at first look, the pain in her eye was immediately gone. Vanished. She couldn't believe her eyes. Her heart raced. She quickly pulled away from the boy's grip, almost jumping away from him. Aline felt like the temperature in her body increased like a hundred degrees, blood rushed to her head as her mind raced for words to say.
But there were none.
Feeling shocked as well, the boy stood there, stone still. His eyes were wide with amazement, the big rimmed spectacles drooped down his nose bridge a little.
"A...Aline?"
Without another word, at the moment she heard her name being spoken from his lips, she turned around.
And she ran.
He was here. He finally found her. The prince finally found his princess, or was it the other way around?
Aline didn't care. Happiness and sadness mixed inside of her like a chemistry formula that would never work. The fluorescent light of the hallway reflected on her tear strewn cheeks.
She ran.
She ran.
