WE WERE THE CHILDREN
By: Colleen Nagel
We were the children who wanted to die.
We were the children who lived a lie
We were the children that always cried
We were the children that had to say goodbye
We were the children who were teased everyday
We were the children who never could play
We were the children who cut their skin
We were the children that never fit in
We were the children that never ate
We were the children who never had a mate
We were the children who would always be scared
We were the children who lived a dare
We were the children that were always depressed
We were the children who always had a pain in their chest
We were the children who sat alone
We were the children who were never known
We were the children that were called a fag
We were the children that felt like a drag
We were the children that were not liked
We were the children that lost the fight
We're now the children that are 6ft under
We're now the children that live in thunder
We're now the children that are part of the plot
We're now the children that will continue to rot
We used to be children...
Now we aren't.
