Lonely No More [Werewolf Romance]

Chapter Ten

*Ella's POV* 

Maia is lying fast asleep in her bed while I'm here under my covers wide awake, staring at the clock. It's nearly one in the morning and I haven't heard anything from Reed. I can't stop wondering what happened and if he is alright. 

I sigh and sit up in bed, knowing that it's no use. I'm not going to get any sleep until I know that he's alright. I get up and slip on some shoes, leaving silently. With my hands in my pockets, I slowly make my way to the boys' dorm. I knock on Eric's door and wait. I stand there for a couple of minutes and still there is no response so I knock again. 

"Come on Eric, open up," I whisper to myself. 

The door slips open and standing there is my brother in nothing but boxer shorts. He is rubbing his eyes, trying to wake up. 

"Ella? It's late. What are you doing here?" he asks. 

"Have you seen Reed at all tonight? I went on a date with him and we came across some vampires. He told me to run and I haven't seen him since," I say. 

"Well, his third in command is my roommate and he ran out in a rush. He hasn't come back either. I'm sorry El," he apologizes. "Why don't you come in and sleep here with me? Maybe it'll make you feel better." 

"No, I'm okay. I'll just head back to my room. I'm sorry for waking you up," I say and begin to walk away, my cheeks tinged with red from embarrassment. 

A pair of hands stops me from walking and I look up to see a guy with black hair styled in the 'I just got out of bed' look. His dark eyes bore down into mine. 

"Well, there's his third in command," Eric comments, looking at us. 

"If you're back does that mean that Reed is back also?" I ask the boy whose name I do not know. 

"Yes, Reed just went to the girls' dorm to check on his mate. You are?" he questions. 

"I am such mate. I'm Ella. It's nice to meet you..." 

"Mitch Pelletier at your service, Luna. Would you like me to contact Alpha and let him know that you are here?" 

"That would be great," I say, a smile spreading across my cheeks. I can relax now that I know he is safe. 

There is a loud bang seconds later and Reed comes running down the hallway in wolf form. When he gets to me, he changes back and wraps me up in his arms, stark naked. 

I pay no attention to the fact that he is naked, wrapping my arms around him and burying my head into his shoulder. 

"You're okay," we both breathe out at the same time. 

A clearing of the throat snaps us out of our little moment. 

"Um, dude, you're hugging my little sister and you're naked. Can you put some clothes on?" Eric asks, being protective. 

I roll my eyes at him and step away from Reed, averting my eyes as Mitch hands him some shorts to slip into. 

"Ella, I'm sorry that those vamps interrupted our date," he apologizes. 

"It's alright. You proven yourself enough to get another one," I laugh. 

"Oh I did, did I?" he chuckles. "I suppose that's good." 

"Are you saying you don't want to bring me on another date? Because I'm perfectly fine with that," I tease. 

He kisses my forehead and says, "I would love to go on another date with you. But right now I want you to go back to your dorm room and get some sleep. I'm sorry I kept you up." 

"It's alright. I don't mind." 

"I want you to sleep in tomorrow. I'll take notes for you in English." 

"No, I can't..." 

"That wasn't a request. It was an order." 

I nod. "Goodnight everybody," I say and head back to the dorms.

*Reed's POV* 

The next morning when I wake up, I am absolutely exhausted. I contemplate skipping class, but know I need to go for Ella's sake. Oh, Ella. I hope she likes the flower I chose for today. 

I almost instantly jump out of bed, getting ready in what I'm sure is a new world record time. I grab a pink carnation and walk across campus to the girls' dorms where I tape it to her door along with the note. Then I sprint to class in fear of being late. I can't wait to see her later.

*Ella's POV* 

I awake to a sound outside of my room. I open up the door to see a pink carnation with a note. I smile and pluck them both gently off of the door. I place the carnation in a vase with yesterday's bouquet of roses as I begin to read the note.

Good morning my beautiful Luna. I hope you slept well. Don't worry about the notes from English. I've got you covered and I will always be there for you. That is what this pink carnation represents. It also represents our bond as mates, symbolizing our healthy, energy filled relationship. Meet me for lunch at 12:30 in the courtyard and I will show you what we can have. See you soon. ~ Reed

I laugh at how cheesy yet sweet he is. I love it. I pin the note up next to yesterday's on my small corkboard and then rush to get ready. I can't wait to see how this lunch goes.
