I woke up from my phone buzzing over and over again. I checked my phone and it was my friend, Savannah. I answered her back saying she woke me up.
"Shit," I cursed as I checked the time. I hopped out of bed and got dressed in a pair of sweatpants with a blank tank-top. I didn't care how I looked. I threw my long blonde hair into a messy bun and raced down the stairs, grabbing an apple and my school bag. I ran all the way to school, and I was late for my first class, Science. I ran into the classroom, obviously interrupting the lesson.
Mr. Wright took this as his chance, "Ms. Jones could you tell the class why you're late?"
"Because I slept in," I mumbled quietly.
Mr. Wright smiled, satisfied. I took a seat quietly while people gave me glares. It's not like they never slept in.
By the time lunch rolled around I was wishing the day was over.
Vanessa poked me, "Whatcha thinkin about?"
I sighed dramatically, "How much I really, truly hate school."
She snorted, "It's not that bad, besides I heard there's a new guy." She wiggled her eyebrows and I laughed. "You should talk to him, I heard he's really cute," she gossiped.
"Yeah whatever, not like anyone would date me anyways," I bit hard into my sandwich. Her face turned from soft to rock hard, "What are you talking about? You are beautiful, don't ever say that because you are so much more." I chuckled quietly. The bell rang and I said goodbye to Savannah. I headed towards the Mathematics room, my favorite class. "It's nice to see you Ms. Jones," Mrs. Williams greeted me. I smiled at her, "Yeah, you too."
