"Yes Mother," I said as I walk into the kitchen. "I will make sure John knows that you won't be able to make it."

We've been on the phone since 8:00 this morning, and its currently 10:30. She keeps raving on about some mysterious discovery that her and her colleagues have made. Apparently its some great break through or something that could be really big or whatever. Quite frankly I could care less about what cave or spooky underground playground she found now, but she doesn't seem to be getting my memo.

"Kay, Mom. I'm going to go now, i have plans." I lied, hoping that would get her off the phone, once again. "No but wait, hun." She continues, "This is the best part," i doubt it. " Listen, so when Avery and i were going on into the tunnel, to see if we could find any bones, we heard these kind of distant voices like almost whispers." Oh great. "But they weren't ghosts there was two men there. A son and father. The son was just a little older than you. An-" I cut her off.

"Where is this going mom?" I say annoyed. "Hold on I'm getting there, anyways, I showed him a picture of you, and he seemed to like you, at least that's what i thought. All he did was smile and say 'oh she is very pretty."

"God! Mom." I ran my hand over my face. This woman is ridiculous. "Why would you do that?"

"You're 17, going on 18, Sky-lar. And you've never had a boyfriend. I'm getting older and I'd like to see my only daughter fall in love before I get too old to remember anything, and be put into a seniors home, without anyone to come visit me, because you'll have never gotten married and had kids. Skylar is that what you want for your poor mother?" She gasps.

"Better than you trying to control my life. Mom, you cannot go around showing my picture to every random guy that you meet, it's embarrassing, mom. don't you get that?" I yell through the phone.

"Don't yell at me, I'm just doing what I think is best for you, hun. You know I love you with all my heart and I just don't want you to go through what I did when I was your age." she explains, sounding frustrated.

"You don't have to worry about that. I don't plan on living the life you do." I sigh taking a seat on one of the kitchen table chairs. "I'm going to go now, mom."

"Okay, hunny. Take care and don't do anything I wouldn't... do." She says affirmatively.

I chuckle. "Sure. Bye." I end the call.

Every time I talk to her I feel like I'm might get an aneurysm.

I don't usually get scared staying by myself, but tonight... I don't know what's going on. I keep getting the chills, and the odd feeling that someone is watching me. But all the windows and curtains are closed so that isn't possible.

I jump as I see the American Horror Story theme show come on. I swear it's scarier than the show itself.

My phone goes off, I take it up and look at the screen: Taylor

"Hello?" I say, putting the phone to my ear.

"Are you sleeping? Ofcourse you're not. Are you going to Trevor's party tonight?" Taylor screams on the other line.

I hold the phone from my ear slightly "No, you do realize it's 11:00 right? Why are you going now?"

I hear him sigh. "Ever heard of being fashionably late? DuH. I swear you don't live in this world with the rest of us." There's a bit of shuffling in the background

"No, you're just stupid." I say, chuckling. "Au contraire mon frère, I am quite intelligent." He says in a matter-of-a-fact tone.

"First of all... I am a girl. And-"
