Niall's pov

The rest of the summer passed by in a flash. I hung out with Liam practically every day during the summer and we would just chill or go to the gym. We got to know each other way better. And I forgot to mention this, I have a six pack now. Surprise!

Liam is going to a private school, but I'm still going to the same old public school. With Harry Styles.

How would he react to my new look? Would I still be bullied?

I got dressed in some chinos, a plain back t shirt, and some vans. My dad was letting me borrow his car for weekdays.

When I got to school, people were staring at me. I wasn't used to the sudden attention, but tried to act cool. Whispers ran throughout the hall. I walked to my new locker like I did everyday last year and grabbed my chemistry book. Pushing it into he backpack, the hall went silent.

"Horan? You look different," the voice who tormented me for years spoke. His posse consisting of Zayn, the school badboy, and Louis, the class clown, followed him as his face was right near mine.

"I decided it was time for a change, made a few friends, here I am," I said with a strangely confident voice and a cheesy smile.

The hall rang with laughter.

"That doesn't change the fact that you're a... Um," he tried to think but couldn't find a good excuse. He paused, but the hesitation was long enough for anyone in the hall to notice.

"So you made fun of him because he was supposedly 'ugly' and not for any other reason? Louis over here told us he insulted your dad, punched him, and made a fool of you! Well, now look at Niall, ripped, cool, and then take a look at yourself, 2 actual friends," the boy who spoke, Joel, I think his name was, laughed bitterly.

I gasped, "I made fun of your father? Since when? That's it, I'm going to class," I spoke, but I was still surprised Joel stood up for me, much less knew my name. The rest of the hall murmured in agreement while Harry and his friends stood there, dumbstruck. I hated rumors, gossip, and anything else related to lying or not actually knowing if it was true.

Harry was a horrible boy.

But at least we got one part of the plan accomplished early, strip Harry of his popularity, it was a few steps later, so I was ahead of the plan. Oh, Harry just made it way too easy.

Dumb, arrogant fool.

When I got to class and sat down, 2 other people immediately joined my side, fight for the seat next to me. I was confused, what was going on?

One of the kids won, and was sitting next to me with a triumphant smile.

"I'm Josh, and your Niall. I like your new hair by the way," he said, quickly, and I got a headache.

"Um, thanks," I replied unsurely.

"Oh sorry," he blushed. "I'm gay, hopefully that doesn't bother you." He was just so confident.

"Nope, I'm bi so basically the same thing right," I chuckled nervously. No one in school knew that, but if I'm starting over, hopefully they won't care now that Harry's out of the way.

"Oh cool," he said with a smirk that he read as 'maybe I'll have a chance.'

No, no you won't.

But my mind was so distracted the whole day, waiting for school to end so I could tell Liam I was already ready for the next set of steps. Oh this was going to be so much fun.
