My pep talks were done. I couldn't talk myself out of it anymore. I was going to college...

And I was going now.

I had been planning my out fit for hours and I had finally come to conclusion.

My black Doc Martens went perfectly with my denim jeans. I slipped on my casual, floppy jumper and snatched my white handbag.

How hard could it be. It's just a more civilised version of high school.

Yep I'm screwed.

********

Dorm 181.

It was just a number. Just a room. But one that I would be seeing everyday.

The butterflies exceeded to flutter ravenously in my stomach.

I walked in and was greeted by a blanck, boring room. Like it had been swallowed by a cloud.

I walked in and put all my stuff on one side of the room as my mind flashed through all the possible room mates I could end up with. I put my fluffy white donna on my bed and pinned up my favourite fairy lights. I prayed to God that my normal teenage experience wouldn't be ruined. I just wanted to be accepted. I don't want to be called the dreamer. Just normal Audrey.

That's when it started. The world around tightened, encasing me in its arms. My vision blurred. Then black.

My breath was hitched and heavy. I could hear nothing but the pound of my heart in my chest. Boom. Boom. My eyelids shuddered with the bumpy pressure my forced run caused. I didn't dare look back for fear of what I would see.

A monster?

Something my eyes couldn't even see?

My eyes only fixed on what was In front of me. And that was the thing....I could see nothing. It was just an eerie, black, darkness.

I never I new is it would stop?

Drop off?

Or what would lay hidden in it.

As I ran the corners of my eyes lit up allowing me to recognise the twisted towering trees, scattered all around me.

It was so surreal. So unnatural. That's what scared me.

My ears began to rattle? Vibrate? Than a faint echo bounced through my mind.

"Hello? Hello."

Uhhhh!

Is swallowed the air as my mind returned to reality.

A gorgeous girl with brunet hair in two fish tail braids stared back at me.

"Jesus girl I thought you were having a seizure!" She grinned a little at her joke.

I rubbed my head.

"I'm sorry I don't know what came over me." I replied still trying to focus

"It's fine, first days can be overwhelming. I'm Layla by the way" she extended her tan hand out to me.

"Audrey. Nice to meet you." We shook hands smiled at each other, observing on another.
Her style was so boohoo! I loved it! As I looked into her eyes I could see the kindness spilling out. I was hoping we would be friends. I knew I needed one.
