It was supposed to be just a nice relaxing vacation to Japan. But if that's what had actually happened then wouldn't have written this story. About mid-way through the flight we experienced some turbulence, almost right away the pilot came on the intercom saying, "Attention passengers: we are experiencing a slight amount of turbulence, do not be alarmed," of course, almost as soon as he had said that I blacked out.
I woke up in a very strange room and was immediately hit with the back pain that you can only have after sleeping on the floor, "Why the hell am I on the floor?" I said. I noticed that I was laying between two beds, "Hey, Nate, Jacob, get up," I said while shaking both of them. Jacob was the first one awake, he said tiredly, "Ugh, where are we?"
"I don't know," I replied. Then Nate got up and barely conscious said, "Guys, I said don't wake me up until we get to Japan,"
"Well we're not in Japan, Nate. And we're probably not going to get there," I told Nate, slightly annoyed by his usual laziness.
"Guys, I think our plane crashed," I thought out loud. Nate replied in a very annoying tone, "We were in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, how are we in a hotel if our plane crashed?"
"How the hell should I know? But when all three of us black out after we hit turbulence, I think it's safe to assume we crashed," after we had managed to calm down, and collect what we could tell was ours, we left the hotel which was actually a small two floor inn. It was actually kind of strange, considering that the inn was in what looked like a big city.
As we were walking away I heard a loud bang, similar to a gun firing, and then Nate fell on the ground. I looked over and saw a large hole in the back of his head, it was quite gruesome and almost made me lose the two slices of bread I had eaten before leaving the inn.
After a moment of panic, I looked back towards the roof of the in, where the shot came from, and saw a short, blond girl, with what looked like a sniper rifle on her back, running away. I grabbed Jacob by the arm and ran in that direction. It was difficult at first but when Jacob caught on to what I was trying to do it was easier.
Considering her size the girl was incredibly fast and it didn't help that we were running through crowds of people but somehow we managed to trap her after she took a wrong turn into a dead-end alleyway. The girl was shorter than I had expected, she couldn't have been more than five feet tall. She wore a kaki jacket with a white undershirt, a pair a beaten-up, old jeans, and a pair of goggles over her forehead that had a strange blue tint to the lenses, similar to a pair I had taken from the inn.
"Who are you?" I asked.
"You don't need to know," she replied
"Look," I said, "you just killed our friend, I'd at least like to know what to put on your headstone,"With that she burst out laughing, "Hahaha! I'm - sorry," she managed to say between laughing fits, "you think - that you can kill me," she continued as the laughing subsided, "You don't even know where you are!"
"How do you know that?" Jacob asked. She pointed into what looked like empty space saying, "Your friend Nate here told me everything," "He's dead though," I responded.
"Ah, for fuck sake," she said reaching up to pull my goggles down, "Didn't you pass sciences and magicses in school?" As my eyes came into focus, I saw a ghostly blue image of Nate standing next to the girl.
"Hey," he said calmly in a voice that sounded like he was in a fish bowl.
"How are you alive?" I asked.
"I'm not alive," he responded, "I'm a ghost dumbass," his tone changing to annoyed, "My soul is just bound to this little kid,"
To that the girl interrupted, "HEY! I'm older than you jackass,"
"Anyways," Nate continued, "I'm stuck with her. So it would help," Nate paused as he turned to the girl, "if I knew her name,""Well," I said, "we have no idea who you are, our friend's soul is bound to you for what I'm guess is forever, and the three of us would like to make it out of wherever we are together. So you're stuck with us," she gave me an angry look and with a tone of a pianos said, "Fine," she stuck out her hand, "I'm Reiry," I shook her hand and we were off on what was one of the most bizarre adventures Nate, Jacob, and I have ever had.
