It seemed like I had woken up first, tied to a chair. Jacob and Reiry in the same situation on either side of me. "Hey, Reiry," I said, "wake up,"

"Huh, what?" She asked, sounding like she was napping instead of knocked out.

"See if you can get Nate to check out where we are,"

"Already did that," she responded, "we're in some kind of bunker. There are two guards outside that door, and six more stationed at other doors throughout the complex. But Nate can only get about 100 yards away from me so that's not even counting the other floors and any other hallways on this floor,"

After what felt like a few minutes a man entered the room, he was an average height, but about 150 pounds overweight. "Hello," he said, "I hear that you two are new in town," gesturing towards me and Jacob, "So you might not know who I am. But you," now pointing to Reiry, "You tried to kill me yesterday,"

"It's just business," Reiry said flatly, "and I ended up getting the worse end of that contract anyway. I don't get paid, and I'm stuck with this dumbass to my right," I guess she was talking about Nate, who I couldn't see without the goggles, "and these dumbasses on my left, who insisted on tagging along,"

One of the guards came into the room, in such a rush that if he could have gone through the door he would have. "Sir," he said, "There are intruders on several of the higher floors,"

"Perfect," Reiry said under her breath. I looked over and the smile on her face meant that she wasn't being sarcastic. The first man looked at Reiry, "You're responsible for this aren't you," he said, "You," he told the guard, "stay here," and then the man left the room.

Sixty seconds after the large man left the room, Reiry changed her cold expression to a scared one. "Please, Mister," she said in a childlike voice, "I don't know why I'm in here. I haven't done anything wrong, I don't ever know these people," honestly the last part of that statement was true, "Please let me go,"

To this day I have yet to learn two things. One, how anyone could be stupid enough to fall for that. Two, how it actually worked. The guard caved and moved towards Reiry's chair and started giving directions to a safe exit. Once she was untied Reiry dead legged the guard and twisted his head until there was an audible 'crack' sound.

After a bit of begging Jacob and I got Reiry to untie us. When we got out into the hallway, all of the guards were gone, probably off fighting the intruders the one in our cell was talking about. We followed the directions he gave us, plus a few pit stops so we could knowingly steal from the people that clearly already hated us, so it wasn't that big of a deal.

"Ah, shit!" Reiry said.

"What is it?" I asked.

"I left my gun in there,"

"Who cares? We need to get out of here," Jacob said.

"That gun is the only thing that is going to save you guys, and if we don't get it now they'll set a trap for us when we go back for it later, and then we're even more screwed,"

Having only been in this world for less than two days and seeing Reiry kill two people in that time, we decided not to argue with her any further.

We went back into the bunker and tried to find where they put our stuff. As expected it took a while, and we ran into a fair amount of resistance. Once we got to the room where our things were taken, we went in and once in the room the door slammed. "Hello again," said a voice I immediately recognized as the man from before.

"Shit," I mumbled under my breath. The man loaded a gun, "You know," I said, "It's polite to tell the person you're killing what your name is,"

"My name is unimportant to you," the man said in a serious tone. I knew what he meant but I decided to fuck with him a bit. "Well Mr. To-you," I said as smugly as possible (considering he was pointing a gun at me, in hindsight it might not have been the best decision), "killing my friends and I would be a very bad decision. We can help with... whatever it is that you do," he didn't say anything for a few seconds, then he smiled as though he had finished thinking about what he was going to do about us, and then a gun went off. I need to stress that it wasn't his gun because none of us fell to the ground dead or even close to dead, except for him. Behind him was another new face was now standing behind the now dead body. He looked like a young guy, and couldn't have been older than 16, "Reiry,"he said a half-panicked voice, "you need to get out of here, we're about todestroy this building," and with that we headed back outside the building.
