The bell rings and the kids started rushing throughout the halls. Some were elated and some were just as tired as I was. It was day one of my first year teaching high school. Nervous as i can be, i take a breath of air and soak it all in. The students begin to enter the classroom-very diverse set of students in my first period, thats a plus. These students came in all different shapes and sizes[if u know what i mean ;)]. As i look across the class, seeing the children laugh and carry on like they would any other day, i couldn't help but create a slight grin, hoping that this year would be a successful one. I started interacting with each individual, getting to know them a little better. You would not believe the stories i heard. Some of them were pretty interesting, and the others were quite ballistic. Like this one guy, Benjamin. I feel really bad for him; over the summer some kid leaked a video of his mom on Facebook. The video was a porn video! Yes! His mom was a porn star when she was younger and i guess that kid was bored one day and started surfing the web until he saw Ben's mom. The worst part about it is that Ben's mom is the school's new secretary. For the whole summer almost all the kids called his mom "Tiffany the Cross-Country Milf". Now he stays quiet and is very succinct and reticent towards others. I just hope that it will get better for him. As the day goes on i really got to see who my students were and since i was teaching 10th grade, I'm lucky that i got a mature group.

The day is done and i go to the teachers lounge to get my stuff from my bin. I cant help but overhear all of the other teachers ramble on about their days to one another, knowing that i may one day join with them, i just look over my shoulder and glance at them. I open up my bin and to my surprise there is a name plate with my name on it-Mrs. J.D. Washington. This feeling of accomplishment trembles throughout my body as i exhale and rethink about the day.
