You felt a wave of heat hit your body as you attempted to step into the room. The fire wasn't an ordinary teeny-weeny kitchen fire, it was a huge fire that had practically engulfed the entire kitchen.
Let them burn, a voice in your head told you, it would be so much easier to let them die that way.
You gasped at what your mind was telling you before you shook your head roughly. "No!" You practically yelled at yourself before darting further into the kitchen, trying to find Arthur or Alfred. You heard someone yelling off to your right side and decided that it must have been Alfred because he was repeating Arthur's name over and over again. Running towards the direction of the noise, you suddenly realized just how hot it was.
The fire was burning your body. Mind racing, you tried to figure out a way to get rid of the fire. Water? No there wasn't a place in the kitchen to get enough water to extinguish the fire. ..Extinguish! You need one of those extinguisher thingys!
Spinning around, you spotted a cabinet under the sink. Darting towards it at full speed, you yanked the door open and thankfully spotted one of the red, tube-like object.
Coughing at the amount of smoke that had filled your lungs, you pulled the hose and aimed it towards the part of the room with the most fire. You attempted to pull the two levers together but where shocked to find that they were jammed for some reason.
You used all of your strength, but it still did not work. In that moment you realized that extinguishing the kitchen was futile, and that the whole house was going to go up in flames and everyone would die. Tears began to form in your eyes, not just because of the sad thought but also from the amount of smoke that had clouded your vision.
Without warning, you felt a pair of strong arms wrap around you and grab hold of both of your hands. Keeping the hose steady, the other hand squeezed down tightly on the levers, making them both come together. A strange white liquid shot out of the hose, covering the fire. The person that held onto you slowly made you walk in a circle to cover all of the fire. After all of the fire was out, you turned around to look into a pair of shining blue eyes.
"Hey, dudette." Alfred smiled before wiping his forehead with the back of his hand. "You okay?"
A small smiled began to play on your lips. "Mmhmm." You made a small humming noise in response before your eyes looked around the kitchen. It was covered in ash and soot, it didn't look anything like the kitchen you had used to make spaghetti the night before.
"Wait-" You looked back at Alfred. "Where's Arthur?"
Alfred opened his mouth to speak, but he was cut off. "Over here, love!" Turning around, you spotted Arthur slowly walking into the kitchen, a phone in his hand. "I called the fire department. They should be here soon."
You looked Arthur up and down, noting how he was covered in ash and his clothes were burned lightly. Something about him was off though, you just couldn't put your finger on it...
Then a small gasp escaped your lips as the realization hit you.
Arthur's eyebrows had burned completely off.
