Dr. Lamont and Albert stood at the bottom of the large stair case as Horace came down slowly in a black tuxedo with a glass of red wine in his hand and he said "Wine, anyone?" The three men then sat at the long, spruce table. They had a large platter of Roast Beef in the center of the table. In the background sat a fireplace with photographs on top. "So Mr. Lamont, what do you do for a living?" Horace asked. "Actually, it's Dr. Lamont but me and a small team are experimenting with a new medicine which we call Insulin. It is supposed to cure diabetes. It's just fascinating." Dr. Lamont took a sip of his red wine. "So, I am very interested in learning about your past, sir." He responded after he had his wine. "No. I don't think that is necessary at this hour." He said back to Lamont. "Please. I insist." He replied. "Alright, the year was 1877 and I was a newborn child in my household. I was all the rage in the family. My father was a very rude man from the stories I have heard. He would leave with his drinking buddies at random times and wouldn't come back for a few days. He usually was brought home by constables  for falling asleep in an alley or a dock and waking up off the pier. My mother was a caring woman and used to argue about my father's actions. She never talked about him at gatherings because after a few years, she realized what a bad mistake had been made. She cared for me but she also cared for my brother, Tom. Tom was four years older than me and did very well in primary school and was very loved by both of my parents." Horace mused. "Oh look at the time! It is 10 to 11! You best be headed home. Albert, you must lead him home." He exclaimed. Albert walked Adam outside the gate where he said "Au Revoir, Friend!" Once Albert went back in, Lamont looked up at the mansion and saw Horace and Albert talking. He turned to himself, smiled and walked to his small cottage. It was in this moment, that a wonderful friendship had just begun.
