~6 HOURS LATER~
I sit awake as Alex lays on the ground, passed out. The pounding I had heard returns and Alex joults awake. She has always been a light sleeper, and very curious, which was both good and bad. She pulled me up to go serach for the root of the noise. We wondered my house for a while, then walking past the bedroom i had used as storage, had heard it louder than anywhere else. As we enter the sound seems to change, into a scratching, and... Whining? It in general sounded like a trapped cat, but, I didn't have a cat. There wasn't anywhere for something to hid anywhere as far as i knew. Alex must have been thinking the same thing because she had said, " You never got a cat without telling me, did you?" I wasn't able to do anything about it, so i we went back to the living room to sleep.
We wake to a metal crashing sound around 3am. The loud sound startled me and Alex as we awake from sleep once more. We look at each other nervosly as we stand up to investigate. The rooms all seemed clear, all door and windows were locked so we walked back to the living room and as we sit we hear a faint two words. "Mine. Out. " These words sounded as if they came from a male who had been deprived of water.
The grim memory of the voice haunted me for hours before fiannly sleeping for the last time.
