(A/N: Batter is 6" 2', Zacharie is 5" 4')
Batter was standing there, his face completely blank with no visible emotion. His right hand was lightly resting on the switch, his left hand loosely gripping his bat. After purifying his own wife and son, he had lost his sense of reality. The Judge was only a few feet away, his body a new mangled mess of fur, flesh, and teeth. The blood that came from Judge was slowly making its way towards Batter, slowly forming a puddle around his feet. His clothes were stained by the blood as well, but it wasn't only from Judge. It was like that until he heard a familiar voice come from behind him.
"Batter..?" Zacharie stood there, a few feet behind him. He had his hands held up to his chest, and his mask was slightly moved to where you could see his mouth pulled into a tense frown. Batter took his hand off the switch, turning around to face Zacharie, a horrified look slowly coming to his face. He had snapped into reality, now realizing he was all alone, except for Zacharie. (And that one Elsen, but everyone forgot about him and he's probably been killed by now anyway.) Zacharie walked up to him, and he was about 11 inches shorter then him. He was looking up at him, the frown staying there.
Batter looked down at him, dropping his bat, letting it clank on the ground. He collapsed right then and there, down onto his knees as he started to sob uncontrollably. He now realized he had killed his family, his friends, and everything was now gone. The only person there for him was now Zacharie. He covered his eyes with his hands, tears streaming down heavily. He could feel a headache now coming on, as his nose also started to run, causing him to use his sleeve to wipe it up.
Zacharie wrapped his arms around him, slowly and gently putting his face in his shoulder, letting him cry onto his shoulder. He softly rubbed his back, letting Batter hug him tightly and continue to cry onto him. Zacharie took his mask off, dropping it onto the ground. He didn't mind Batter crying onto him, he did always have a bit of a "small" crush on him anyway. After what seemed like hours Batter slowly pulled away from Zacharie, rubbing his eyes one last time and wiping his nose again before looking at Zacharie.
Batter's eyes were red and irritated from sobbing, as he now felt small and defenseless. He stood up, looking down at the small merchant. He couldn't speak, for his mind was to clouded with thoughts. He could only think and have regret for what he has done, and he looked around like a small, confused child.
Zacharie looked back up at him, then bent down to get his mask, and then reached for Batter's hand. He would guide him now, and help him through the emotional trauma. He slowly grabbed Batter's hand, lifting it up and then turning around, making sure to tightly grip Batter's hand. A lot of thoughts were running around in Zacharie's mind, but he was also slightly blushing at that fact he was holding Batter's hand. He took him out of there, finding the red cube. He took them back to the nothingness, standing around for a bit before taking them to Zone 2. He led Batter up the path, taking him into the library. He dashed, trying not to get to wet, but both of them were soaking wet from the heavy rainfall that still went on, even after the zone becoming purified. Maybe there was a way to restore the color? He would find out later, right now he needed to take care of Batter. He left him in the lobby, before sitting him down and telling him to stay where he was. He ran to the shopping mall, South of the Library. He grabbed a few supplies he would need to heal Batter, and then ran back to Batter. Finding him in the same spot, he kneeled down and wrapped his wounds, trying to be gentle. He didn't want to hurt him, because if he did he would feel terrible. The poor man had been through enough already. After wrapping his legs and arms, stopping the bleeding, he stood up and extended his hand down at Batter.
Batter looked up at Zacharie for a moment, then took his hand and stood up. He could feel a stinging pain in his right leg when he put pressure on it, so he kinda wobbled and limped a bit. Zacharie looked up at him, and then grabbed his hand again. He led him to the back, sitting him down again as he went off to get supplies that he could use to make a make-shift bed. He found some blankets, fabric, and soft books. (Like children's books.) He laid a blanket down after folding it, and then laid down Batter. He used the fabric like a blanket for him, and used the soft books as a pillow. Batter pretended to fall asleep right away, but he was faking it.
Zacharie slowly went over to his side that wasn't against the wall. He took his mask off, setting it in his lap. He couldn't help but look down at one of Batter's arms, which was extended out from under the blanket. His eyes slowly gazed down at his still, open hand. He slowly set one of his own hands down, inching it towards Batter's before taking Batter's hand into his. He softly squeezed it, enjoying how Batter was usually so warm. He slowly closed his eyes, but not before he started to blush, realizing that Batter was starting to grip his hand back. Batter's hand eventually was wrapped all the way around Zacharie's, softly gripping it. Zacharie smiled contently, and fell asleep after a few minutes.
