I apologize for the Grammer. When I first wrote this, I was in a rush and didn't look over it. However, I did get someone to assist me in reviewing it all, and she corrected any mistakes.

[ On a Helicopter headed to New York - January 18, 2016 ]

The world was changing from the outbreak. At this very moment, the infection spread through the world. Now we must stop it before it gets too dangerous. The government sent a team to clear the area where it began; team name, Extinction. An hour from New York, they received a call.

"Lucy, Spark, Emily, and Jack, your job is to clear the area at New York," the president informed. "Any survivors must be evacuated immediately. Good luck, team."

"Why do we always have to get the hard jobs," Spark whined.

"Just shut up and deal with it!", Lucy stated irritated.

The news of this new virus drove everyone mad and prompted the city to chaos. As the team moved on to New York, it looked like hell. They all saw the damaged cities, buildings, and homes; that was whether broken down or burnt down. Finally, the team found a clear area and landed.

"Wow, this place looks like shit. Hmph reminds me of you, Lucy, but more apocalyptic.", Spark joked.

"Shut. Up. and keep moving, or else I'll stick my foot right up your-.", lucy retaliated.

"Lucy! Calm, please.", Emily interrupts.

"Sorry... he's just a pain in my ASS!"

"You'd like that wouldn't you." Spark mocked, with a smug on his face.

"Guys, enough talk; we're here for a reason. Let's clear the area.", Jack ordered.

We wandered from building to building to find any possible survivors. In one particular broken home, Jack spotted a silhouette. Jack walked closer to it. The closer he got to the outline, the more features he noticed. Finally, it seemed like a tall man. Jack slowly made his way to this shadow of a man.

"Sir, are you alright?" Jack said in a low, worried voice. "Are you hurt?"

(No response)

"Jack, you're too pleasant. Let me handle this."Spark marched.

Spark walked up to the man.

"Answer me. Are your hurt?"

(Silence)

"Speak, or I'd be to make you answer.", Spark said while getting a grip on the man's collar.

"Spark! Calm down, or else he'll think we want to endanger him.", Jack demanded.

"What!?.. That is some bullshit.", Spark grumbled as he let go of the man.

"I don't give a damn what you think. You're a dumbass, so calm your ass down, soldier."

While Jack and Spark squabbled, the man got up and made a sound. A gagging sound, like he had something solid in his throat.

"Hey, guys... um, he's moving.", Lucy said worriedly.

Jack and Spark didn't hear her and continued their argument. Meanwhile, the person came out from the shadows. It was a dead man, and he was heading towards Jack and Spark. He had a pole stuck in his throat, skin flapping underneath, blood all over his face and neck, and holding an unknown victim's arm. The dead man ran towards Jack faster than their eyes could keep up. Before it could attack, Spark pushes Jack away from the enemy's trail.

Lucy cocks the assault rifle towards the walking corpse, "Hold the dead man still!"

Lucy shoots the dead man in its left eye socket, but the man continues to wail around.

"He's too fast. Jack, what do we do?!

Jack aims his AR-15 at the dead man and fires. Jack got the dead man's arm, and it fell off. The slow man's shoulder began to make a sizzling sound. Steam arose while his bone was showing in an instant before their eyes. When the moisture lighted up, you could see it was no longer bone, but iron and almost looked like a cytoskeleton.

"What...the hell ...is that ..?" Spark Exclaimed.

Everyone was shocked and afraid over the transformation of the dead man's arm.

" J-jack, what do we do.?" Emily muttered worriedly.

As jack pondered for a moment, the dead man dashed to jack. Spark came in time to shove jack away. But, instead, the man's iron arm pierced Spark's right arm and flung him to the wall.

"SPARK!!!", Yelled everyone.

Lucy, Emily, and Jack picked up their weapons and aimed at the man. The man then ran away, letting out a horrific and ear throbbing screech, like nails on a chalkboard. They all continued to keep their aim at the man and proceeded to fire. In the meantime, Emily prepared her grenade launcher and then shot at him.
Jack took notice of the tears wailing up in Emily's eyes and patted her back.

"Nice shot Emily," Jack said.

As the smoke cleared up, they saw that half of the creature's body was to bits. Only Its head, his torso, and his iron arm remained intact. Spark shot at its temple and ended him. Emily took her med-kit out and began to inspect Spark's wound. The wound ran deep through the bone—fragments of the bone in the mashed-up meat. Upon further inspection, she saw some movement In the arm. She grabbed a magnifying glass and magnified it. It looked like iron maggots. She disinfected the area and bandaged him in the hope that the alcohol would get rid of it.

"DAMN!", Jack said frustrated.

Jack was upset that he let his guard down and let this all happen. Jack clenched his fists and ground his teeth in anger.

"Hey Jack, quit getting mad at yourself.", Spark controlled. "It was my fault that it happened."

"Shut up....just, shut up...
Let's try to find a way to get to the nearest hospital and continue this mission.", Jack Muttered.

Jack never expected this to happen so quickly. On the way to the hospital, everyone kept their eyes wide open for more of those things.

[ 2 hours later ]

"Look, a hospital up ahead.", Emily pointed out.

"Keep moving, and don't stop until we get there..." Jack said as he stopped for a second. Then, he heard noises coming from ahead of the road. "Holy shit..."
