Chapter 1: Karate Lessons

A/N: Hey guys! So this is my first ever fanfic. I wanted to write about Steve Trevor and Diana Prince after the finale of 'Wonder Woman' in 1979. So this is simply what I think would have happened next. Enjoy!

As IADC agent, Diana came into work one summer morning she couldn't help but notice the absence of some one very important: Steve Trevor, her boss, was nowhere to be found. She assumed he might be running late and began filling out her report on a recently completed case.

Several hours passed; and still no Steve. Diana had almost finished her paper work when the phone rang: "Hello? Diana prince speaking."

"We have him." came a deep voice.

"I beg your pardon?" She got calls like this all the time. University students were usually behind them.

"We have Steve Trevor." came the voice again.

"Who are you? What do you want?" Her voice was confident, but she couldn't help but worry.

"Who we are is not important. What is important is that you do everything I tell you. Exactly as I tell you. Then old Trevor here doesn't get hurt."

"Alright. What do I have to do?"

"Our demands are simple. Just bring $2,000 to the old Maxwell karate dojo on Jay st. Bring it and don't tell anyone. Then you can have your friend back." The line went silent. She had no choice.

"Well that's that, Stevie boy." the owner of the voice on the phone was tall and slim, with cold, grey eyes and black hair. "We got you, and now your lady friend: Diana Prince is on her way. My mission is as good as finished."

"Well don't start celebrating yet. Diana is smarter than you think." Steve was tied to a boxing bag. 'I hope Diana has a plan.' he thought.

On the corner of Jay st stood Diana. She had with her an empty brief case. Of course she knew it was a trap, and had a plan. She backed into an alley, checked to make sure there was no one around, and began to spin. Then: BANG!!! Standing where Diana Prince once stood was Wonder Woman.

Off she went to the dojo; but as she came closer, she saw a guard out front. From behind a car across the street, she took off her tiara and threw it at the unsuspecting guard. He fell silently. Wonder Woman jumped onto the rooftop and gazed through the sun roof.

Steve was tied up in the middle of the room, there were two, armed men positioned near the door, and seated at a desk several feet away from Steve, was the man whose voice was heard over the phone. Without hesitation, Wonder Woman crashed through the sunroof; landing on her feet in front of Steve.

"Wonder Woman!" he shouted. "Am I glad to see you." She threw him a smile, but this was no time for flirting. Bullets bounced in every direction, none reaching their target, and still she advanced. She picked up the black haired man by the collar and threw him across the room. The other two rushed towards her and did their best to stop her, but their efforts were in vain.

She stopped the first one by throwing a solid punch to his jaw. He fell and the the second tried to run. He got only to the door before Wonder Woman caught him with her lasso.

"Who do you work for?" Her lasso had the power to overcome the evils of man and compel them to tell the truth.

"A man named: Samuel Chase." Samuel Chase. She had heard that name before. But where?

Back at IADC headquarters...

"You should have seen her, Diana." Said Steve from his chair. "The way she took out those men was really something.

"I can imagine it was, Steve." Diana said as she poured two glasses of water and handed one to Steve.

"Thank you. So, any word on Samuel Chase?"

"Yes. According to Ira, he served in the Washington Police force for eight years, but was discharged three years ago. Apparently, he got into an argument with his superiors and threatened to blow up the building. Six months ago, Chase became the CEO of Ivanhoe manufacturers. Since then, there have been seven police murders throughout the United States. All of them coincided with Chase traveling on business."

Steve put one hand under his chin. "That still doesn't explain why he would kidnap me, and draw the attention of the IADC."

"I think there is more going on than we know."

"Where is Chase now?"

"Currently, he is doing a routine inspection of one of his facilities in Miami, Florida. He will also be attending a business conference there." Steve stood up and headed towards the door.

"Diana, pack your bags. We're going to Florida."
