My alarm goes off at 5 in the morning. I grab my phone and turn off the alarm. I roll over onto my side with a groan, not really wanting to get out of bed. I slowly sat up and rubbed the sleep from my eyes. I stretched a bit and groaned as I stood up, the room being too cold for my liking.

My back was sore from the last day of bringing boxes in last night. I promised my mum that I'd do it while she was at work. I looked into my full length mirror and smiled softly. It was a new day, new school, new people to meet. I started to feel nervous so I shook my head. I quickly got dressed and ran into the bathroom to brush my teeth and fix my hair.

Once I was all ready for my first day I walked out to the kitchen to find my mum sat at the table sipping her coffee and reading a news article on the laptop. I put my phone in my back pocket and grabbed a water from the fridge.

"Are ya ready, Niall?" My mum asked. I smiled softly and nodded. "Yeah, as ready as I'll ever be." I said with a small chuckle. Mum and I walked out to the car and I couldn't help but to feel increasingly nervous as the morning went on. I'm starting to change my mind about real schooling.

Once we pulled up to the school I wanted to throw up in the parking lot. My mum gave me a pat on the shoulder and she kissed my cheek. "Have a lovely first day, pumpkin!" I groaned softly and got out. "Love you". I mumbled and waved her off.

I knew I was at the school super early, which was a good thing for my education, but a bad thing for my social life and sleep schedule. I slowly walked down the hall to the front office, I don't understand why it's not at the front doors like at normal schools, but I shrugged. I had nothing to really compare it to since I was homeschooled for 11 years.

I looked down at the school uniform I was wearing and made a face. I didn't like it one bit, boring blue and beige. I waited in front of the secretary desk for the old woman behind it to notice me. She was on the phone with some students parent. They were screaming at her for no reason it sounded like. I felt bad for her.

She hung up the phone and rubbed at her temples for a second. She looked over at me and gave me the fakest smile I'd ever seen. At least she tried...I think. I shot her an awkward smile.

"How may I help you, young man?" She asked. She had a little lipstick on her tooth. It made me cringe a bit. "Uh, yes hello. Um I'm Niall Horan..I'm new." I mumbled. She typed my name into her computer and smiled for real this time.

"Welcome to our school, Mr. Horan." She handed me my schedule. I looked it over. We had six classes. First I had maths, then I had art, English, Biology, Spanish, and then choir. I smiled because I loved all of those classes except English. I'm not much of a reader.

I walked out of the office after I thanked the lady, she must have a rough job because she seemed really greatful that someone said something nice.

I walked up the stairs to find my locker. It was in my schedule along with my locker combination. I spent a few minutes trying to get it, finally some success. I opened my locker and put my bag and jacket in. I grabbed my folder for the first class.

Once I walked in, I introduced myself to the teacher, Mr. Gripes. There were only three students in the room. He gave me a warm welcome and assigned me to a desk in the middle near the windows. Once the room started to fill up with students, a boy sat next to me.

He was shorter than me, he had brown hair and he wore a goofy smile. He talked to the students around us, he was loud and seemed to have a lot of character. He looked over at me. "Oh well hello blondie." He laughed softly and I chuckled. "What's your name?" He asked.

"Uh...my name is Niall." I smiled softly. He grinned and grabbed my hand and shook it hard and jokingly. "Nice to meet ya, lad! I'm Louis!" He was definitely an interesting character.

The morning dragged on and once I was finally in my Biology class, everyone kept staring at me. I mean, I understand that I'm the new kid with a different accent, but I'm not a zoo animal. I payed more attention to my stomach growling more than anything. I knew I had lunch after this class so I was pretty excited. I took down the notes I was supposed to and spaced out a little. I heard the teacher clear her throat.

A group of boys sat behind me were talking during the lesson. "Mr. Styles." Mrs. Mueller spoke up. The boy behind me with long brown hair looked up at her. "Yes?" He asked. "Is my teaching disrupting your conversation?" She asked. There were a few collected giggles. He smirked. "Actually, yeah. Could you keep it down? I'd like to finish telling my mates about how much you bore me and that your husband left because you've got a stick up your ass and nobody can seem to get it out." He chuckled. A lot of kids laughed but I just stared at him.

Her entire face was red and he looked over at me and gave me a wink. I looked down at my desk when she screamed at him and told him to head to the principals office. I shook my head and looked up at the screen. He walked out but gave her the finger before he did. There were a few more laughs.

Once it was lunch time, I was sat by myself at a bench. I ate my sand which and played on my phone, texting my best friend Zayn from back home. I missed him lots. I felt an arm around my shoulders. I looked over to see who it was. That Styles kid, and he had a couples friends. One of them was the guy from my maths class.

I looked around as his friends weren't looking at me but they were all talking. He smiled and I looked back over at him. "Well aren't you cute." He smirked. I stayed silent. "What's your name, cutie?" I scooted over more so his arm was off of me. I was about to get up and walk away but that one kid turned around and grinned. "His name is Niall!"

God I want to hurt that kid.

The Styles guy smirked. "Niall? I'm Harry, but you probably already knew that." I shook my head and stood up, walking away. I looked back as he stared at me and winked again with a smirk. I just walked upstairs to my locker. I will admit though, for being such an ignorant wanker, he was cute.
