Hey. This is my second story.I am writing more. I decided to restart the story. I am in the middle of making changes to it. So bare with me please and just enjoy my story!
Chapter 1
“Winchester! Get in the game!” Coach M screamed. I got up off of the chair and went and took Kylee’s spot. The mason’s team serves the ball. It comes over to me and I hit the ball. The ball gets hit and heads on my side. I hit the ball one more time and Mason misses the hit. It hits the ground and I have scored the winning point.
The buzzer buzzes. We have won the game. The final game of the season has finally come to an end. Mason has 21 we have 24. I am so happy we won! I scored the final hit too. That is an awesome accomplishment. I have scored for over half of the season. I am top scorer on the team.
“Bring it in ladies. Caitlyn, you did really great out there. You have scored the most points this year. Great season ladies! I am so proud to be your coach. This has been the best season in the last ten years. Way to go ladies, keep it up.” Coach M says as we put our hands in the middle.
“Let’s go, Knights on three!” I shout. “One, two, three, Knights!” I shout again as my team shouts with me.
“Ok, go hit the showers lady knights. It was a great game tonight.” Coach M says with a smile on her face as she walks towards the table and sips her coffee.
I start to walk off when she calls me to her. “Caity, wait a minute please.” Coach m says to me. I walk over and wonder what she is going to tell me.
“There were several scouts here tonight. One is from Ohio State, Michigan State, and Pennsylvania State. They all came up to me and mentioned wanting to meet up with you to discuss college. They want you at their school playing Volley ball. If you pick those colleges, you will get a full ride scholarship to one of those colleges!” Coach M exclaims. I can tell she is really excited!
“This is awesome. I will totally get back with them. Thank you so much Coach M.” I say smiling.
“No problem Caitlyn. You are the best player on this team. Without you, we would be having one bad season. Go shower, I will see you on Monday morning in Chem Lab.” Coach M says getting her bag and walking out the door.
I head to the locker room with a smile on my face. I am so happy; I mean getting scouted is amazing.
“Why are you so happy?” Sheila asks me. I look at her and smile. I got scouted by Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania State for college! The college scouts want to meet with me this year and discuss college with me. If I get in to their college I will get a full ride scholarship for Volley ball. This news is just amazing. This is what I need to get out of Jersey for good.” I say heading to the shower.
“I bet. I know I want to get out of Jersey in one piece and with a scholarship too.” Sheila says smiling back at me.
The water feels good. I am feeling so relaxed. My muscles are not as tense any more. I feel so good. I am still kind of sore though. That is the bad thing about Volley ball. I hit the ball so much I got used to the pain.
But, I still get sore. Oh well, it is also a good work out for me too. I love it anyway. I cannot imagine not being able to do Volley ball in college.
“I am sure you will Sheila.” I say as I am getting out and dried off. The water made me feel so amazing.
“I hope if I do it is far away from here. You know what I mean. I am sick and tired of my mom. She is the worst to live with. I am ready to spread my wings and fly. Leave my nest finally.”
“Yeah, I do know what you mean. I am somewhat ready to leave. There are times when I want to leave so badly. But, other times where I know if I did, I wouldn’t make it on my own.” I say.
“Yeah, I know the feeling. Well, I will see you on Monday girl. Good game tonight.” Sheila says walking out. I head out behind her leaving chatter behind. I am so happy about the scouts. My mom will be so proud of me. It is just too bad my dad never sticks around long enough to find out about me.
I drive home and when I get there the lights are on. Mom must be home with dad. I do not like him all that much. He is nice but when my mom leaves, he is a total jerk to me.
I walk in and Mom is watching television with Dad. I was right he is here. Ugh!
“How was the game sweetie?” My mom asks with a smile on her face. I smile at her and sit down beside her.
“Great. I scored five points. I earned lead scorer of the season. And there were three colleges scouting me. They want to give me full rides scholarships!” I say happy.
“Congrats baby, I am so proud of you!” Mom says getting up to hug me. I hug her back and Rick is there smiling at me. Ugh, I wish he would leave and never come back.
“Let’s go out to dinner tomorrow.” Rick says getting up and smiling. He wants to celebrate me? This is so unexpected. He is being really kind today. I do not mind that though.
“Ok. Thank you Rick.” I say smiling at him and giving him a hug.
“No problem Caitlyn. You deserve it. It’s awesome that three top colleges scouted you.” dad says smiling.
“It sure is sweetie. I love you.” My mom says smiling at me. I hug her one more time.
“I am going to my room. I am tired. Good night mom and Rick.” I say heading to my room. They say good night and head back to watching the movie.
I finally go to sleep after a nice warm shower and finishing my homework. Good night. I think to myself and drift off to sleep.
