On the television appeared a news woman, informing us about the weather. Appearently, the next few day are going to be rain-rain-and more rain! That's the basic weather forcast every week when you live in Seattle, Washington. I've learned to deal with it.
Zoey came into the living room with a coke and a water bottle. She tossed the water to me. "Why are you watching the news??" Asked Zoey obviously not approving of my channel choice. She probably would rather watch something involving kissing, punching, hugging, slapping, and all the drama you could handle.
"I don't know. Here." I tossed the remote to her end of the couch, implying that she could change the channel. I really didn't mind, only because I still had my thoughts on Eli. This was rediculous, he most likely wasn't even all that great as I imagined him to be. I bet he is a self-centered jock who thinks he is better than everybody else, but god I hope not. I dream that he is caring, thoughtful, romantic, and I knew for a fact he was good looking!
I thought silently to myself and all of the sudden I had this strange, stupid urge. I got off the couch and walked to the front door without a word. I hesitated as I reached for the knob and shyly slipped the door open just enough for my slim body to fit through the slit.
Standing with my back against the double door, I spotted Eli across the yard. All of his friends had left so he was just sitting up against a tree, alone!
This is your shot Christel! MAKE A MOVE!! I told myself. Obeying my demand to myself, I started walking over to the tree where Eli was located...
"Hey," I greeted with a small smile on my face.
"Hi." Eli returned.
"Mind if I join you?" I asked reffering to sitting next to him.
"Go ahead!"
"Thanks, so watcha doin' out here?" I questioned as I sat down next to him. We were so close! I hoped he didn't mind the lack of personal space!
Eli shrugged and replied, "Just sitting..."
"Oh. It's 'Eli,' right?" I asked the question I already new the answer to.
"Yep! And you are...?"
"I'm Christel, but you can call me Chris!" I answered
"So is Chris just a name I call you? Or is it something everybody calls you?" He said in a slightly flirtatious manner.
I blushed at his tone and wispered, "Just the special somebodies..." I gave him a flirty smile letting him know that ment more than some may interperate. This was going better than planned, honestly I didn't think I would make it out the door!
"I see, so are you one of Zoey's friends?" This was said with a first flirty voice but then it turned normal and he squinted at me with curiousity all over his face.
"More or less... There are other reasons I come here..." I replied with a smile, returning to the flirting that obviously wasn't over.
