Supple Wrists and Nimble Fingers
"-your index finger on the A string, second fre-," Before the guy in the video could finish speaking, Lauren slammed shut her computer while running a hand through her hair and setting aside her guitar using her other hand.
There was nothing Lauren hated more than online guitar lessons. She was just so bummed about their freaking music project where they needed to bring a stringed instrument and play one song.
"What gotcha all bothered, Lauser?" Dinah Jane, her best friend-slash-roommate, asked the annoyed green-eyed girl.
"My music project," Lauren mumbled before taking a pillow, and burying her face in it and screaming as loud as she could. Dinah winced at the sound of her muffled scream.
"Ralph calm down, will 'ya?" Dinah sounded concerned. Lauren looked up from her pillow to Dinah, that's when Dinah chortled. And for once, Lauren thought Dinah was actually concerned about her music project.
Dinah, being Dinah, was constantly teasing Lauren that Regina could play guitar better than her. Well, how would you expect someone to be good at something they just started doing? Especially if that someone was Lauren.
Lauren was, well, a hard learner. It took a long time before she learned how to do something, except when she was really up for it. And in playing guitar, well, she really hated that instrument. But she had no choice, it was either this, a violin, or a freaking cello. And she couldn't imagine herself as a classical musician. She couldn't even handle the thoughts of having that gigantic instrument between her legs.
"Fuck you, Dinah Jane," she said, rolling her eyes before hiding her face in her pillow again.
"I'm just kidding," Dinah laughed, raising her hands in defense. "But seriously you need calm your tits, you've got like two months before the performance."
"Yeah right," Lauren spoke quietly but loud enough for the blonde to hear her; her face was still in her pillow. "I've been practicing for like a week and I can't even make a G-chord."
Dinah chuckled, "It's not that bad."
"What am I going to do?" Lauren pulled the pillow away from her face.
"You can get like a tutor or something," Dinah suggested nonchalantly. Lauren's face lighted up once she heard the suggestion.
"Damn Dinah!" She exclaimed, her lips finally forming a cute little smile. "You finally got your goddamn brain working!"
"Oh shut up," Now it was Dinah's turn to roll her eyes. "And it ain't free, you owe me and Mani lunch tomorrow."
"What? No," Lauren shook her head.
"Do it or I'll tell Mani your undying love for her," Dinah warned, but it didn't affect Lauren in any way. Her attraction for the dark-skinned beauty disappeared a long time ago, especially when her best friend started dating her.
"Yeah right," Lauren scoffed, rolling her eyes once again. "Tell her and I might take her away from you. Plus, she knew that I liked her."
"As if Mani would choose you over me," Dinah said confidently. "She loves me," she added while kinking her right eyebrow as if mocking Lauren.
"Oh she would definitely choose me over you," Lauren teased, taking Dinah back for teasing her earlier and winking at the tall girl playfully.
"No," Dinah shook her head, "she won't."
