The next morning he woke up, looking at her and Mac, both still asleep. He smiled softly and laid his head back down, closing his eyes but he shot up and awake after Mac licked his face a few times. He groaned softly, "No, Mac, no. Stop it..." He didn't stop, he yapped softly. "Mac. Mac..... Mac..... GODDAMMIT MAC STOP IT." He didn't yell, meh just used a stern tone of voice with the dog, who slowly moved away and laid in the corner, curling up. He slowly pulled himself out of bed, nothing on but the few tattoos his had on his back and right arm. He walked to the laundry room quietly, barely awake. He stepped in, reaching into the dryer and pulling out a pair of black boxers and a pair of woodland Marpat BDUs. He slid on the boxers and walked back to his room, sliding on the pants. He grabbed a pair of socks, sniffing them. Eh, they smell fine. He shrugged and pulls them on. Then his tan combat boots, tucking his pants into the top of the boots. He stood up and walked to his dresser, filled with tan and green form fitting shirts. He picked up a green one, sliding it on and tucking it into the pants, then he slid on a green belt. He sighed and picked up his dogtags, putting them on. I don't know what I'm doing but oh well. I don't give a shit what they say. He turned and walked to his closet, pulling out a woodland Marpat blouse, buttoning it up making sure it looked proper. His name, Matthews, stitched on one side and US Marines stitched across the other. He smiled and turned around to her, walking to the bed, bending down, kissing her quietly. She stirred slightly in her sleep, kissing him back quietly. He smiled. "Good morning love." It was maybe 0600, 6:00am. He walked away to the kitchen as she got up and out on the clothes that she had laid out before he had even gotten him. He waited for her by the front door. "Mac." He whistled, "Come here." The dog slowly approached him, sitting in front of him. "Hey buddy.. I'm sorry I yelled at you earlier bud. You know I love you don't ya?" He smiled as the dog yapped quietly and licked his face. He patted the dogs side. "Good. Good boy. You gonna be a good boy and watch the house for me while I'm gone? Yeah?" He smiled as he licked his face. "Alright. Alright kid. Calm yourself." He slowly stood up as she walked out, looking beautiful as ever. "Well holy shit. Look at you. Probably one of the most beautiful girl I've seen in forever." He smiled as she giggled softly, her face turning a light red. He looked at Mac. "See ya buddy." He smiled and walked out the door, shutting the door. He walked to his truck, sliding into the drivers seat, shutting the door and rolling down the window instantly, The cool morning air blowing in. He looked at her, leaned against the window. He smiled and started his truck, backing out and driving the some odd, 5 miles to the school. He looked at her, smiling a little. "Go on and I'll meet you inside." He smiled as she got out and walked, but she stopped and smiled when a guy walked over and smiled at her, hugging her tightly, then kissing her.
He looked at her, his jaw clenched tightly now. Don't come over here. Don't come over here. Don't fucking do it. He thought. He hated the guy, her boyfriend apparently. Why the fuck is she with him? Out of all people, why Jacob Rae? Fucking stupid. They both walked over, he put on a small smile. "Hey Dan, I didn't know you were back. Did you have fun on vacation?" He looked at him. "It wasn't a fucking vacation. Now get off my truck. Please." He pushed open the door, forcing him away from the truck. He stepped out and shut the door, slamming it. He walked to the back and pulled his bag from the back, watching something fall from it with a loud metallic thud. He kept quiet and swept it under the tool box. He slipped his bag onto his back and looked at Jacob. "By the way..." He looked at him. "Two things. I fucked your girlfriend there, two, stay away from me and anyone I know, yeah?" He said it in a grim tone of voice. He smiled as the two argued while he walked off. He laughed, walking into the school. The first people he saw was Gabby, Adam, Gracie and several other people all staring at him. He smiled at them all. They all gathered around him, laughing, smiling, crying, they all were yelling about how much they had missed him. How badly they wanted him home and now he was. He smiled. "Guy! Come on now, I gotta get to class." He smiled and pushed out of the crowd. He stepped into a class room, AP History, yet he didn't know anyone in the room. All he did was smile, wave to the teacher who was beginning to tear up and he sat back down. "Daniel Matthews. How dare you just wave at me and sit down. I haven't seen you in almost a year." He smiled and got up. "I'm sorry Mrs. Turner. I honestly am." He hugged her tightly. "How have you been dear?" She smiled. "Honestly, ma'am, I've been better." She frowned slightly. "Well, sit down and hopefully you feel better." He turned towards his desk, but she stopped him. "Not back there, not today. You're gonna sit in my chair and you're gonna tell us stories from deployment." He slightly smiled. "Are you sure ma'am?" She nodded "I'm completely sure." He smiled and walked to the front of the room, sitting down in her chair quietly."Well, where do I begin." He trailed off slowly, thinking back.
