I laid back on the hard hospital bed and tried to relax before I have to get my surgery done. My mom held my hand as tears continuously roll down my cheeks. My father was sitting on the other side of me holding my other hand. He looked at me with tears building up in his eyes.
"Everything is going to be okay baby girl." My mother said kissing my forehead.
A few more minutes passed and my recommended doctor came in the room.
"It looks like you're all ready for the surgery. I ran a few test and you're blood pressure is a little bit higher than it was a few hours ago so before this procedure I'm going to need for you to relax. Okay?" My doctor Mrs. Patton said.
I just nodded my head and looked at the ceiling.
My dad kissed my forehead."Keep your head up love." He said letting my hand go slowly. I lightly smiled.
I felt the bed being pushed out of the room. I looked back at my parents and weakly waved. I closed my eyes and said a quick silent prayer. I opened my eyes and wiped my tears.
"We're about to start sweetheart. Just relax for me." Dr. Patton said before covering my face with a mask. After that everything went blank.
Hours Later ...
I woke up and tried to speak but my throat was so dry. I looked around the room and saw my mother in the chair next to me and my father on the sofa that was in the room. They looked so peaceful. So I didn't want to wake them so I just pressed the nurse assistance button.
A few minutes later a nurse came in with a cup of water. I was about to jump out this bed trying to get to the water. If these cords wasn't holding me back I would've. She handed me the water and I drunk some. She checked everything to make sure it was running smoothly.
"How are you feeling sweetie?" Nurse Larissa asked me.
"Yes I'm fine I'm just so hungry." I responded, trying not to sound too whiny.
"Oh yea, you can eat but only soft foods like gelatin, yogurt, mashed potatoes, foods like that." She said.
That was good news cause I was starving.
"Would you mind bringing me some up here?" I asked with pleading eyes.
"No problem hun. I will be right back with your food." Larissa said as she walked out of my room.
"How you feeling darling?" My mother said almost scaring me to death.
"I'm feeling fine. When did you get up?" I asked.
"I just got up about 2 seconds before you said you were hungry." She said yawning and grabbing the remote.
I still don't get why we yawn when we wake up. It just seems so weird.
A few minutes later Dr. Patton came in the room to update me.
"I just have to run a few more tests and you'll be able to go home if everything is running smoothly." She said as she smiled. I smiled back.
"Thank you." I said. She nodded and walked out of the room.
Shortly nurse Larissa came back with my food.
After I ate Dr. Patton came back and said everything is running smoothly. I got discharged and my mother drove me to my house. I grabbed my bag and unlocked my house as I checked the mail. Nothing but junk. I proceeded in my house.
I went to my room showered and all that good stuff. I put on black yoga pants and a purple sports bra. I put on my purple Nike hurraches and went downstairs. I almost forgot about nibbles. I let her in the house and put some food and water in her bowls. I went to my indoor gym and started working out.
I finished like 2 hours later and took a hot nice bath. After that I put on my grey sweat pants and a white wife beater. I read for a while and then I turned off my light and laid down watching tv. It feels good to be back home.
After a while I dozed off.Author's note
