I woke up from my nap. I heard the television downstairs on. I grabbed my robe and walked downstairs. I saw Dascle on my couch sleeping. I smiled and walked to the kitchen to make dinner. Chicken Alfredo it is. I got out all the ingredients and started my boiling water for the noodles. I got the sauce from the pantry. I got out the chicken to chop it into smaller pieces. As i was checking on my noodles Dascle walked into the kitchen. I smiled at him and he smiled back.

"Someone looks like they're feeling better." He said still smiling.

"I am, would you mind helping me cook. It's Chicken Alfredo."

"No problem" He said grabbing the strainer for the noodles.

I grabbed the knife again and continued to chop up the chicken. I felt eyes on me and I turned around and Dascle looked away and smiled. I smiled and shook my head.

We finished cooking and I made both of our plates. He sat across from me at the table. I handed him his plate and I sat mine down and got our drinks.

"So, tell me a little about yourself." I said sitting down.

"Let's see. I grew up as a regular child until my parents died when I was 10 in a plane crash. I was put in the system for about 1 and a half years until a old couple adopted me. I lived with them for about 5 years suffering. I don't want to get too into that situation. But I got away from them when I was 16. I found my older brother and he took me in. After that I graduated from high school and college. And now I'm a successful businessman with 5 businesses that I own." He said looking up at me. We looked into each other's eyes until I looked away and cleared my throat.

"Well that's something." I said shocked that he'd been through all of that.

"Yea. Tell me about yourself." He said picking up his fork.

"Well I had almost the perfect childhood. Minus having cancer. I have had cancer almost all of my life. When I was four I had passed out and fell into a coma after surgery. They didn't know what was wrong with me. They ran a few test on me and found out I had cancer. When I was 16 I decided to be celibate. Because all the boys wanted to date me out of pity. Now that I'm older men don't know that I have cancer unless I tell them. Now I can find my true love. My parents are very successful people. They usually never really gave me any attention, unless I had health problems. They would give me money and leave me home alone all the time. So, I really had to learn everything on my own." I said as clouds of tears blurred my vision. Before the tear could slide off of my chin Dascle gently wiped my tears away.

He grabbed my hands and looked into my eyes.

"You seem like a very sweet woman, you can always talk to me. I'm right across the street. And I hope you don't think I'm talking to you out of pity. The first time I laid eyes on you I thought you were one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen. Did I know you had cancer, no. But I still went after you even when I found out you did have cancer. I'll always be here for you. I know we barely know each other, but you can trust me." He said. I smiled

"Thank you." I said. He smiled.

The rest of dinner we just talked and joked around. When we were finished with our food I put our dishes in the sink.

I walked him out and gave him a tight hug. I was about to walk into the house until he gently grabbed my arm.

"Thank you for this evening." He said smiling while holding my hands. I smiled.

"You're very welcome." I said. He leaned in and kissed my forehead.

"Goodnight Rhane." He said.

"Goodnight Dascle." I said back. I closed the door as he walked away.

I went upstairs to shower. After my 30 minute shower I went to sleep with Dascle on my mind.
