Moonstar's Tale

Run

-Two Years Later-
A young kit was playing in a twoleg garden. She noticed that there was a hole in the fence and curiosity got the best of her. She crawled under the hole to see a forest right behind the walls that had concealed her her whole life. She ran back into the garden and into the twoleg den to find her mother.
"Mom! Mom! Guess what I just found!", the young kit bounced up and down in front of her gray mother. "What? What did you find?", her mother asked in pretend interest.
"I found a hole in the fence, and when I looked outside I saw a huge forest! Like the one you told me about in those stories!", the kit squeaked excitedly. "Come and look!", she tugged at her mother's fur until the young kit's mom was following her into the garden and under the fence.
The kit looked at her mother and was surprised to see that instead of a look of wonder and excitement in her eyes, there was a look of grief and sorrow in her eyes. And the kit could have sworn that she heard her mother mutter,"....Home..."
Suddenly, the noise of the twoleg den entrance echoed all the way to the cats' ears.
A look of anxiety and horror crossed the gray mothers face and she looked at her siamese looking kit quickly. She said, "Go into the forest. Now!"
The young kit was confused. "Why? What am I supposed to do once I'm there?", The kit asked, not daring to move an inch.
"Go to forest. Find the big ash tree and wait there. The first cat that you see, confront them. Tell them your name and that Starlight, your mother, sent you to find Saberfang", The gray cat explained, revealing her name.
"B-but I don't know what my name is! And who is Starlight and Saberfang?!", The kit, now completely confused, asked.
"Your name is Moonkit. And I am Starlight. I'm your mother. Saberfang is your father. Now go!", Starlight replied quickly, shoving her daughter of towards the forest.
Now that Moonkit's confusion had been cured, she followed her mother's directions. Moonkit went straight looking for a tall ash tree. After a while she found it. She waited until a bit after sunhigh, then a white cat with red ears, tail tip, paws, and a red sludge spot like spilled blood on his back.
Moonkit saw him and, doing as her mother said, she confronted him. But she was not the first to speak.
"Who are you!?", the red and white tom questioned Moonkit.
"My name is Moonkit. My mother, Starlight, sent me here find a cat to take me to Saberfang", Moonkit explained in a similar way her mom explained it to her.
Immediately, it seemed the tom understood. "I am Redear. Come with me. Quickly. I can take you to your father", he stated flatly, turning and starting to walk away.
Moonkit wasn't sure what he meant. But as she followed Redear, she remembered what her mom had said to her before she ran into the forest, I'm Starlight, your mother. Saberfang is your father. My father.... my father is a forest cat and so is my mom and I never knew until now....
