  Nova's P.O.V

   I didn't go to school today. Depression took over me the past 2 days that I haven't talk to Dani or Jas. I left both of there houses and came home considering my parents sent me a death threat text. They told me if I didn't come home they'd find where I was and kill whoever I was with. I didn't want anyone getting hurt. They've abused me bad ever since I got home.  I'm embarrassed to go out in public, knowing my face is all swollen, bruised, and cut up. Right now I hear banging at my door from my parents trying to get in. I packed my stuff into a bag and opened my window. I walked out onto the roof with my bag and slammed my window shut jamming it. I wasn't running from home, I was staying here but not inside. I had packed a big blanket to put on the roof to lay on. My house was oddly shaped, it's roof was flat but the inside of the house was completely normal. My brother and I use to climb up here on the roof, put lights on the edges to light the whole area up and get away from my parents fighting. I needed to get away just like the old days so I set it up exactly how it use to be. I put the lights up and laid the big blue fluffy blanket in the middle and put my bed covers on top for me to sleep under. I brought a small light and put it by the two blanket that are now my 'bed'. I laid two pillows on top of the fluffy blanket and under the covers.

By the time I was done setting up everything it was darker out. I decided to go to sleep since I didn't sleep all yesterday from all the pain I was in and more screaming and crashing coming from down stairs. I slept peacefully and woke up to sunshine. I checked my phone, it was 7. I was late to school, not like I was planing on going. I hear my parents come out of the house door. I panicked and rushed over to the edge, looking down secretively from the side. They saw the lights and yelled me name angrily. I refused to answer. Next thing I hear which made my heart warm up was 'Nova, are you okay?', it wasn't my parents' voice, it was Alex's voice. Alex was my crush that I had texted before, we talked a bit an were friends which was good enough for me. I quickly ran to my phone and texted him saying to come around the back of my house. I had a balcony in the front of my house and the back. I jumped on to the balcony and saw him down there.

"Nova?" Alex whispered loudly.

"Shh, catch." I said throwing down my bag as he caught it.

"Alex, I trust you, you have to catch me, okay?" I said honestly. Alex nodded agreeing. Alex caught me, I was in his arms and we both looked each other in the eyes. He put me down not losing eye contact. Suddenly our lips connected. We wrapped our arms around each other and just stood there kissing. I suddenly remembered my parents would come to the back and hurt me or Alex. I pulled away gasping at the thought. He looked at confused.

"Alex we need to go right now." I said worried," my father will harm you. I don't want that, we need to get out of here." I said finishing my sentence.

"I understand-," He started but paused in shock taking a look at my harmed face," Nova, w-what happened to you, no. They didn't do that, they couldn't have. Nova, d-did they?" He said worried. I nodded and he just held me tight."Let's get you out of here." Alex said making my cheeks heat. We sprinted to his car, my parents looking out the window at us. They ran out the door yelling but Alex and I were already in the car. He sped off as I sat there shocked that I had gotten away. Alex grabbed my hand and smiled at me. I smiled back, this was real smile. I was finally happy. Happy, at last.

Dani's P.O.V

   For a few minutes Luke and I just sat there hugging. We didn't talk, just stood there in silence. Luke had his head resting on top of mine since he was so tall. His arms were wrapped around my waist, mine wrapping around his. My head was cuddled in his chest as I took in his scent. I heard him slightly laugh by my action. I was smiling like an idiot of course then looked up at him. Luke was smiling as well.
