i stare into hi's intense brown eyes,i can't get enough of the calmness that sweeps over me when i catch that glimpse of mystery and youth in hi's eyes.

it's been exactly a week since i arrived here,a week since Maliah died,my eyes start to get moist,so i blink the tears away and push the memory of my dead sister aside,i don't have time for grief,not right now.
"hello?" says sabrina "earth to maya" she says as she wriggles her fingers in front of my face
"oh,hey" i reply "is Claudia coming to the movie with us tonight?"
"hope so" she says "brought you pudding" she says grabbing a little plastic recipient with a metallic lid from her pocket
"thanks" i say as i rip of the lid and pour some of the sweet creamy liquid into my mouth
"it's ok" she says with a smile i mean,what are bests for? right?" besties,that word rings in my ears,for the first time in a long time i feel like this is something that's going to last a very long time.
after grabbing my food i seat with the rest of my so called 'squad' ,one week ago i thought i would never get used to the way claudia fixes her hair every ten minutes, or the way sabrina and ethan smile at each other while holing hands and calling weird goofy nicknames at one another, but now i feel like i have been friends with them for ever.
"hey guys"says edward, i feel the heat "hey eddie" says leila,that's another thing i'll never get used to: leila flirting with every single boy she comes across"hey" he answers casually,my heart races as he kisses my cheek and speaks softly "hello maya" i'm seriously melting "ummm....hey" i say blushing,he sits across the table from me,we look at each other's eyes,i could look at those intense blue eyes all day

after dinner sabrina,claudia and i walk over to our room,i mean,it's not really claudia's but she sleeps there almost every night so...
"ok guys"claudia says "time to confess,i didn't buy the movie tickets"
"what the heck clauds?" says sabrina,she looks kinda mad
"you didn't let me finish" claudia says excitedly "we're going to jourdan's party"
"oh my gosh!!!" i squeal "that's awesome" i look at sabrina and see the look on her face shows that she's not convinced at all,we have a silent conversation
"fine,i'll do it" she says finally.

"i have nothing to wear!" sceams claudia as she throws a sparkly black top at the giant pile of clothes
"did you really just say that?" says sabrina from the bathroom as she puts on a ton of mascara
"seriously claudia"i say "ft's been an hour and a half,are you sure there's nothing you can wear"
"absolutely sure" she replies.
after three freaking hours of getting ready we are finally ready to go party girling. sab's wearing a lose white top with frills at the top and and a pair of black jeans that look like they just lost a fight with a cat, claudia is wearing a short golden top and a pair of white flared jeans and i'm wearing a pair of dark blue high wasted jeans and a short white sparkly top that opens at the back.
