it gets stomped on
its worn on our sleeve
torn in half
left to die
causes our tears
and our pain
but leads us
to new wondrous things
lets us feel new feelings
keeps us alive
lets us survive
it breaks
it heals
it melts
and it can turn to stone
a few words creates hope
a few words can kill it so
that it feels like itll never win
but something makes us look up
and find a new reason to try
the ups and downs
like a roller coaster
can change everything we know
like a river it flows
and the heart will show
how much we can grow.
