It was Katy's Jr prom she was going with Her friend Jamie. They had decided not to take dates so they could dance with anybody that asked.
It was a couple weeks till prom. While walking down the halls at Hall High School. Katy had discovered that Jamie's friends had talked her into going with a date. So Katy was just not going to go. She didn't feel comfortable going with the others and not having a date.
She didn't care to much about guys at her school. The ones that she did like had girlfriends. She was really shy and wouldn't ask anyone to go with her anyways.
Katy talked with her older brother Dan about the prom. He said he really didn't know anyone that could go. Just as friends.
Katy had decided that she was not going to go. She didn't have anyone that she could ask or would ask because of her being to shy.
One evening Dan called and told Katy not to make any plans for Friday night. Dan is in the Army National guards and he had a friend that he wanted her to meet. Dan and his girlfriend was going to bring him out to meet her.
