“Caleb, I’m hungry.”
“Shut up.”
“CALEB I NEED A POTTY BREAK!”
“Shut up.”
“CALEB I WANT TO GO TO THAT OUTLET STORE!”
“JAYLA!”
“Caleb I want something to drink.”
“Stop.”
“Caleb I want to go home.”“No.”
“Caleb I’m cold.”
He slams his head on the wheel in the middle of the freeway, the car dragging out one long, annoying beep.
“Caleb.”
“If you say my name one more time I swear to god I will pull over and leave your ass on the freeway.”
“CALEBCALEBCALEBCALEBCALEB!”
He swerves and pulls over on the side of the road, staring at me.
“Get out.”
“It’s cold. No.”
In fact, it was raining really hard right now. I would be soaked to the bone in seconds.
“Then stop complaining.”
He pulls back onto the freeway, like a triumphant little prick. I will wipe that smirk off his face once we go to our “highschool reunion” he’s forcing me to go too. I did not want to see all my old “acquaintances” (enemies) and the rest of the people that made my life a living hell. I wanted to be warm and cozy in my bed right now listening to the rain coped up with a good book. Some dreams could never be a reality when Caleb was involved.
“Caleb, I have to pee now. Not even kidding!”
“Here’s a cup,” he chucks an empty speedway cup at me. His SUV was an absolute mess, fast food and drink cups everywhere.
“Over my dead body,” I throw the cup back at his face.
“I’m driving right now, do you really want to die that badly?”
He pulls off the exit to the closest McDonalds.“Can I please have a McCafe too?”
“Hurry up then.” We both get out of the car and sprint to the door.
WHIPPED!
I run into the bathroom, my bladder hurting so badly that I could barely walk. Those quality fastfood bathrooms always made my year! Especially when all the toilets were flooded.
When I get back into the car, Caleb sat there like a little butler with my coffee in his hands.
“Thank you,” I say happily, smiling and snatching the liquid goodness from Caleb’s hands.
“If that’s all it takes to make you smile, why didn’t you tell me earlier?” I smile at him and flip on the radio as he pulls out of the lot. Caleb, I must admit, had his sweet times.
