A/N Okay just to let you know, text messages, notes, anything that is written will be in italic but anything to do with the 'link' will be in bold like now :) enjoy ^^
Perfection.
That's what my reflection pictured, long blonde hair that flowed effortlessely down my back in soft waves, sparkling green eyes with hidden pools of blue hidden by shimmering eye shadow. Full lips and high cheekbones with a thin, but still curvacious body.
"Kaelyn! You'll be late for school again!" My mother's voice called from downstairs and I glanced at my phone, the time showing that I had exactly 5 minutes to get to school or get detention. Sighing heavily, I applied one last coat of bright red lip gloss before snatching my belongings and rushing downstairs and grabbing my keys.
I wandered outside into the crisp and relievingly cool air and I admired my 2013 Kia Optima before hopping in and grinning at the smell of new car and leather. I cranked up the radio, listening to the ranting of Kyle and Jackie-O as I sped my way to school.
I parked in my usual spot before stepping out and being flooded by admiring students and my friends who elbowed their way through the crowd. I cringed inwardly at the sheer amount of noise and the stench of some students as I pushed through the mob and into the school building. The bell rang with an ear piercing screech as I made my way to class, stopping myself from covering my ears and whining.
"Hey babe." Nick greeted as we passed and I winked back at him, swinging my hips a little as I continued on to class and I chuckled as I hear a low, primal growl. The teacher grumbled as I walked in, muttering to himself about the way I was dressed or something and I sat in the back of the class, passing notes between my friends.
Morning ladies, what have I missed over the weekend? I folded the small piece of paper and handed it to my closest friend Kylie who glanced around the room suspiciously before taking the little note and hiding it as if it were the most precious treasure she could have. I giggled softly at her antics and quickly looked around the room, glaring at people suspicisiously as they turned to fidn the culprit. Smooth.
Nothing much, Robbie hooked up with some slut and so him and Tracie aren't together anymore. She might need some support. I frowned as I read the note she had passed and I glanced over at the bleary eyed brunette a few seats down from me. Her makeup had been done perfectly and her hair was skillfully tied up in an intricate plait that was woven into the back of her hair and I saw her silently sob to herself. She really did love him.
So where is Robbie exactly? I passed the not back to Kylie and she frowned, scribbly her reply quickly and hiding it as the teacher wandered over, ranting on about Shakespeare or something. As soon as the teacher turned his back, Kylie threw the note at my face, hoping to hit me but I reacted too quickly and caught it with a sly smile. She pouted nad crossed her arms over her chest, sinking into her seat.
He disappeared after she rejected him, we tried to follow him but he just vanished. His scent stopped just outside the borders so I'm guessing he went rogue. It's too bad, he was a good fighter.
I frowned at her response and crushed the note up noisly, shoving it into my bookbag and writing down the notes I supposed to be taking before the bell rang loudly in my ears. Jeesh that was annoying sometimes.
I gathered my stuff up, rushing out of the classroom before heading to my next one, Math..... not my strongest subject.
***Lunch***
I grabbed an apple, two sandwhiches, some fries and a soda and placed them on my tray before paying the lunchlady and heading over to the 'popular' table. Some idiot within the group had finished telling a joke and immediately everyone began to guffaw and giggle like idiots. I skipped over with false happiness and gracefully sat down next to Nick. I kissed him on the cheek, greeting him before biting into my apple hungrily.
"Hey baby." He responded, purposely touching his elbow on mine and I was suddenly aware of all the eyes that had suddenly laid on me.
I took a deep, hesitant breath before forcing myself to beam at the people around me. You see, being popular isn't all glamorous or fun and games. It's hard work. You have to look perfect, act perfect, be perfect. Have the perfect boyfriend and relationship, it's even worse when you're the rarest colour of Werewolf in a pack of mundane, boring brown wolves and you're expected to find your mate in a week or marry the only different coloured wolf in the pack, the black Alpha. Who, if you hadn't guessed by now, was Nick.
"Has there been any sightings of Robbie yet?" I whispered quietly, but loud enough for everyone's werewolf senses to pick up on, I recieve mostly shaken heads as a reply and I glanced at Nick's frowning features and furrowed brows. I sighed heavily and glanced at Tracie who hadn't been listening and saw the tears build up in her eyes. She knew about werewolves, but she was still only human.
"I might skip for the rest of the day, I'm feeling restless." I mumbled more to myself than to anyone else and Nick forced a smile on his face, waving goodbye as I stood up slowly, throwing my uneaten lunch into the bin before glancing back and seeing Kylie comfort Tracie.
As soon as I had made it outside I slumped, my sore back was relieved and I ripped off my ridiculously high heels as I wandered into the forest that was just outside of school. As I walked further into the safe over of trees I found the certain tree that we all hid our clothes under and I undressed, quickly stashing my outfit neatly before shifting painfully into my wolf.
My skin tingled as my fur ripped through, feeling like I was being stabbed by thousand needles as my bones snapped in and out of place and my face was pushed into the form of a muzzle. My hair turned pure white to match my fur and I panted as I calmed my erraticly beating heart, whining at the pain.
My senses increased tenfold as I could hear the scurrying of panicked animals and their heartbeats, I could smell the forest and scents of my friends around me. I took a deep breath before bursting forward, sprinting towards the borders of our pack, the Red Moon. The environment around me was a blur as I raced past trees and dodged straying branches. I picked up Robbie's distant scent and I barked as I raced after it, following his trail quickly before it faded.
I went past the border almost immediately and my stomach churned as a sickly feeling overcame me, something wasn't right. Something was very, very wrong. The animals stopped chirping and crying out and I skid to a stop, my claws ripping up the dirt and dirtying my white paws. My chest heaved as I glanced around, searching for something, something I knew was there.
A low growl erupted from an ominous bush directly in front of me and I stared into a pair of familiar ice blue eyes. I'd seen them somewhere.... but where?
I didn't have time to ponder as the wolf pounced on me, slashing at me with it's claws and I barely dodged it's attacks. We circled around each other, snapping at one another before he lunged at me again, his teeth sinking into my shoulder and I whined before snarling at him and scraping his back, ripping him off of me.
He licked his blooded lips before grinning at me, his teeth now red with my blood. I shuddered, limping on my left front leg as I circled him, taking a deep breath before pouncing on him and scratching at his face, teeth and claws everywhere. The wolf lashed out as he found an opening in my attacks and slashed my face, blood trickling into my eyes and temporarily blinding me as he sank his teeth into my neck and darkness overwhelmed me.
I fought to keep my eyes open, whining as the pain began to finally hit me. My eyes drooped as I saw two large wolves looming over my increasingly tiring body, one was a deep dark brown, Robbie and the other was a deep, deep brown almost black, the one who had attacked me. I stared into the mytery wolf's ice blue eyes once more and I took a sharp, sudden breath as I realised who they were.
My mate.
