~Part One~

"Eliza, you be good now, okay? Auntie Anna and I will go out for the rest of day, and Uncle Kristoff will look after you while we're gone," Elsa explained.

"But, mommy, why are you going away again?" Eliza asked.

Elsa kneeled down to her 5-year-old daughter's height. "We're just going to drive over to your grandparents' house." She picked up Eliza and carried her downstairs. "Your Uncle Kristoff should be here soon, so you can sit on the couch and watch TV. I'll be upstairs getting ready if you need me."

"Okay!" Eliza responded cheerfully.

Elsa lightly stepped upstairs to her bedroom, gathering everything she would possibly need for the journey: wallet, keys, flashlight, food, water, extra clothes, and a pocket knife with multiple tools.

Knock knock. "Elsa, it's me and Kristoff!" A voice called.

"I'll get it mommy!" Eliza shouted, and she jumped up to answer the door.

Elsa knew from the person's voice that it was Anna, and normally Elsa would never let Eliza open the door for anyone unless it was a family member that she knew well.

Eliza stood on her toes to reach the lock on the door, but finally was able to let Anna and Kristoff in. "Hi Auntie Anna and Uncle Kristoff and Kara!" She greeted.

Elsa came downstairs to greet everyone. "Hey sis! I hope you don't mind, we brought Kara along to play with Eliza," Anna said.

"Oh, that's no trouble at all, better even," Elsa said. "Hi Kristoff and Kara!"

"Hi Auntie Elsa," Kara mumbled.

Kristoff patted her on the head then picked her up. "Hi Elsa, don't worry, she's still trying to get used to people. Just give her time, she's only three and a half."

"That's okay, you're still my favorite niece in the entire world," Elsa spoke in a high voice and giggled. Then in her regular voice, she said, "All of Eliza's dolls are in a box in her room, if she wants to play with them, and she needs to take a nap around one, so probably after lunch."

"Yeah, no problem. I'll try not to let them watch too much TV, and Kara will need a nap as well," Kristoff agreed.

"Great!" Anna chimed. "Looks like everything's all set for us to leave. Bye Kristoff. Bye Kara." Anna kissed them both on the cheek. She stooped down to little Eliza. "Have fun, cupcake," and she tapped Eliza on the nose.

"Bye everyone, we'll be back in time for dinner," Elsa assured. The door creaked open as she and Anna exited.

"I'll drive," Elsa said. "Just read the directions to get to Mom and Dad's house," and she handed Anna a piece of paper.

"Alright," Anna obeyed.

Toward the end of the car trip, Anna couldn't help but ask, "Hey, Elsa?" Elsa look at her in response. "Do you ever wonder why our parents disappeared? Or why everyone else in town disappeared? It's strange how they still haven't solved it."

Elsa remained silent for a few seconds before she replied, "Actually, yeah, I have thought about it before. No one's ever figured out why all those people, including our parents, disappeared. But still, it's best to leave it alone. It happened so long ago that it hardly matters now."

"But Elsa, it's our mom and dad. I need to know what happened to them," Anna pleaded. "Both of us need to know."

Elsa sighed deeply. "I know, Anna, but we really shouldn't get involved in this now. It's unlikely that we'll find anything anyways. Listen, I want to know just as much as you do, but what good will it do if we find out now? Our parents and everyone else along with them are probably dead."
