Elias gestured to Ember and walked outside, "See, this is granite,"
She shrugged, "Looks like a normal rock to me."
He grinned, "Naw, see, it's mostly gray, but it's got tiny grains in it. I forgot exactly why. Marble is different, it's smooth."
She smiled, "I know marble, it makes pretty kitchen counters."
He nodded, "Yeah," and reached for her hand, but stopped, "Darn it," and sighing, held her book instead.
"Hm?" she looked at him, confused, and then realized, "Oh...," sadly, she answered, "I...hm... I don;t know what to say"
Elias shrugged, "We'll get through it."
Ember nodded softly, and Elias smiled warmly at her, "After all, you've made good steps already! Soon you'll be through your trial and Saria will be able to revive you fully."
Ember sighed, "Only in magic, Saria says reliving my death and getting more more details means its part of the trial. Not sure what though, its just more vivid visions."
He thought about this, and asked, "Are you remembering more details?" he brightened, "Maybe it 'll help you find out who it was! Talia has been showing me some programs that involve ghosts, and that seems to help, resolving things like that."
Then he stopped still, "Ooh, crap, but it hurts you to relive it ..."
She nodded softly, "I just see ... He is just a shadow... I even can taste my blood..."
"Oh, Ember," he sighed softly, "I, um, I know I can't really, but stand here, I can at least give you an air hug"
She smiled sweetly at Elias, "Its fine, I lived through it for four years, I won't lie - it hurts but I'm used to it. You know, I heard this song from a Disney movie. It cheers me up, maybe it will work for you. Ever heard of the healing incantation from Tangled?"
He thinks about this, "Oh, the thing with the flower? The one the black haired lady sings?"
She nods happily, " You should try singing it when you're down, helps me."
Softly, she sings, "Flower gleam and glow, let your power shine. Make the clock reverse, bring back what once was mine. Heal what has been hurt, change the fate's design. Save what has been lost, bring back what once was mine... what once was mine..."
He tilts his head to listen and smiles, "That is lovely, I'll ask Talia to get the movie. I know she watched it before."
Ember giggles, "Singing is good for healing yourself, you should try it."
"I heard a a pretty one before, I only know part of it, 'Still here' I think it's called." He sang softly, "'Every night, dream you're still here, ghost by my side.' that one."
She smiled, "Saria plays that one all the time. I love it. But she tells me to shut up 'cause I sing allot... most of the time its when she is trying to sleep, I just get bored. Everyone is asleep at that hour."
He grinned, "I like your voice. but I get that, there's a few of us at Talia's, and sometimes we're noisy. Want to keep walking?"
She smiles happily, "I just have to find a place to sing, hehe."
"There's a park with a large flat ROCK, we can go sit there, and I have no idea what kind of rock. Probably the same kind as in your book."
She laughed, "Hehe, I doubt that, its from Eorzea. But lead the way, I might get us lost."
He lead her into the park, "Oh, well, there is that. But somethings are the same, right? C'mon, it's this way," Heading off path and crashing through woods to a small meadow, he smiles, "Here."
There was a large nearly flat rock in the middle, big enough for both to sit on.
Ember follows, looking around everywhere, "Are you sure this is a school... its really big... I'm totally going to get lost when I'm alive."
He grinned, sitting on the rock, "Yeah, when we get new students they usually run into at least THREE of us just trying to find the dorms or something. And I mean in three separate places. But," he smiled, "I'll show you around, don't worry. And the other guys will help, I'm sure."
She blushed, "Hehe, I can see why. I would love that... well more you then the other... I don't really talk to Yukiya, and I never met the others." she thinks a moment, "Saria says there is one named Luca, even though he is gay she hates him."She sits on the rock as well, and after a moment Elias answers, "Hmm. there's Yukiya, you met him, he's pretty quiet, but he IS my roommate, a good guy. Um, yeah, Luca is ... I think he's a little messed up. We're all in the same class.
Then there's my brother, I gripe about him, but he's not so bad. There's Randy and Azusa as well."
Ember smiles, and nods, "I hope I can meet them."
Elias smiles gently, "Sing, now? Please?"
She does, and he leans back, listening to her lovely voice echo through the meadow.
After sometime, though, the sun began its descent, and Elias stood, "It's getting a little cold, let's head back in. That was lovely. Thank you."
She smiled and followed him back.
